Boredom: Is it Safe for Me Right Now?

Have you had the chance to be bored lately?  It’s certainly not exciting.

But such luxury!

Boredom comes on the heels of fun, joy, and all good things.  Sometimes, when boredom sets in, I wander through the house wondering things like:  Why?  What should I do now?

Once I define my situation:  the blahs! – I like to take a little time and reflect on this experience.  Truly, I’m a little afraid of boredom.

Boredom, after all, creates space for new and different and creative things to germinate.  Unexpected opportunities will appear, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile, I think about boredom.  Sitting is for thinking.  Lying down is for  recharging.  Sleeping is for healing.  Standing is for action.

Sitting invites unexpected opportunities.

When I’m bored, I stop and talk with myself about encouraging unexpected opportunities.  I know they always come:  hand-in-hand with boredom.

It’s easy to live with boredom.  After all, “blah” is safe, if nothing else.

When, if, you can shake off boredom, you’ll discover opportunities you’ve never noticed before.   They’ve been hiding just out of sight.

This is also a good time to focus on things you can create.   Tap into a timeline which isn’t available right now.  It’s there though.  Just out of sight.

Take time to meditate now.  Slow your mind a bit and heal.  Meditation can  release old emotions, making room for renewal and newness.  This helps you become comfortable.

Begin with an out-of-the-way spot where you feel safe and comfortable.  Take a deep breath.  Hold it for a moment and exhale.  As you inhale and exhale, release old memories, fears, and everything that no longer serves you.

Release tension with each exhale.

Breathe in all that you need with each inhale.

With a final inhale, see that you are walking in a forest.  Observe the stillness and the quiet as you walk along.  Smell the trees, flowers, and the clean green of the forest.

As you walk along, you come to a small pool with a gentle waterfall.  There is a bench just on the edge of the pool.

Everything is clean, quiet, and inviting.  You remove your shoes and clothes and put them on the bench.  Then you step into the pool.  The water is just the perfect temperature.  You enjoy the feel of the water as you sit in the pool

While you are  surrounding yourself in the pool, you look at the area around the edge of the  pool.  You notice the plants, the trees, and the sunlight coming down through the trees in the area around you.

As the water surrounds your body, you feel renewed, cleansed, and refreshed.

You feel like a new person.

After a short time, you look around and know it’s time to leave the pool.  You step out of the pool and find a new towel on the bench.  You dry yourself with the towel.

As you reach for your clothes, you notice they are different from the ones you left there.  These new clothes feel soft and shimmery as you put them on.  They fit you perfectly.  The colors are your favorites.

The clothes fit perfectly.  You look different now.  You feel different, changed somehow.  You begin to walk away from the pool.

As you walk away, you come to a figure on the path.  You know, without being told, that this person is joining you to answer a question you have in your heart.  .

The answer to your question appears in your mind and heart.

You know now, it is time to return to the present as you receive the wise being’s  blessing.

You leave the pool area on a path.  Feeling positive, you notice your surroundings.  You are ready to process the information you received in the forest.

It’s time to return to the present.  Filled with gratitude, you know that you can return to this place any time you want.

You send messages of gratitude to your family and friends.
