Reflexology For The Spirit

spirituality of one's health

Eczema is an Itchy, Red Skin Irritation which Itches Before the Redness Appears

The eczema skin irritation first appears in itchy patches.

Several factors bring about eczema:  stress, immune system overload, and allergies, all of which will respond positively to regular Reflexology for the Spirit sessions.  However, your client partner needs to identify what triggers the outbreaks and to adopt self-care strategies to control the problem.

Many eczema sufferers also have asthma.

Often, an eczema sufferer struggles with negative attitudes toward events in his/her life.  When these occur, you see an eczema outbreak.

Typical things which set off an eczema bout include certain foods, drugs, animal dander, some metals, fragrances, cleaning products.  Emotional stress, anger, poor circulation, and weather changes can compound the problem.

A little sun daily (10 minutes or so) can be helpful.

As with all immune system disorders, a clean environment is critical.  This includes the home, car, air, water, body, workplace.  Once a person begins to clean out the toxins, the body will have a chance to improve.  Cleaning out involves discarding all the toxic cleansers and cosmetics in the home and replacing them with non-toxic cleansers and cosmetics which aren’t going to exacerbate the eczema.

Your client partner will be embarking on a journey of clean living which includes a diet free of toxins, chemicals, etc.

Since real health begins and ends in the colon, the next step is a colon cleanse.

Once the environment is cleaned up and the body is cleaned out, it will be easier to cope with stressful issues.

A hypoallergenic moisturizer is essential.

When you work the Digestive System, you Help the Intestinal Trct Normalize Itself

Constipation is common in people seeking the services of Reflexology for the Spirit Practitioners.  The good news is that the condition seldom continues as regularly scheduled Reflexology for the Spirit sessions progress.  This is true of both children and adults.

Risk factors for constipation include a sedentary lifestyle, eating a low-fiber, high-fat diet, not getting enough liquids and, in my opinion, not getting enough vitamin C.

It’s difficult for the human body to achieve optimum health without a clean intestinal tract.  Many conditions throughout the body can be improved as the intestinal tract begins to function properly.

Often, when you have a client partner coming for regular session to deal with constipation, you  will begin to see a person who feels better, looks better, develops better eating habits, has more energy, and has a more generous outlook on life.

Although sessions offer a gentle detox, a colon cleanse followed by a liver cleanse will improve things immensely.

In normalizing colon function, dry brushing after bathing, lymphatic cleansing with exercise, weekly Reflexology for the Spirit sessions and regular use of a mini trampoline in addition to the cleanse will help.

AREAS TO WORK:   digestive system, immune system, lymphatics, urinary system, liver and solar plexus

ESSENTIAL OILS:   anise, peppermint, ginger, fennel, tarragon

Calluses and Corns Can Be Troublesome and Represent Spiritual Challenges

The impact  calluses and corns have on your client partner depends on where they’re located on the foot or toes.

For many, they’re protective armor and a defense mechanism representing the soul crying out for protection from unbearable outside events.  For example, a callus in the heart area of the foot deals with protection from problems of the heart that have become difficult.  Calluses and/or corns on the throat area of the foot represent problems relating to communication.  And, calluses on the heel area connect with core beliefs.

There’s a relevant place for Reflexology for the Spirit when dealing with these spiritual issues.  If you have a client partner coming to you regularly with calluses and/or corns, please refer him/her to a podiatrist to treat the medical aspects.  People shouldn’t self treat these conditions because they can end up with worse problems than they began with.  And, if your client partner is diabetic, it’s even more important to seek medical help.

Several trips to the chiropractor are in order here if your client partner’s gait is being impacted upon.  A properly aligned spinal column helps overall health.

After that, it’s up to you, the practitioner to facilitate the spiritual and emotional healing which accompanies regular sessions.

Your client partner should be able to move forward as issues resolve.

AREAS TO WORK:

ESSENTIAL OILS:  tea tree, lavender, Roman or German chamomile.

Bunions are Definitely Spiritual Afflictions

They’ve been around for generations and generations.  Because of their location on the foot, bunions are a way of dealing with love (the loss thereof).  People suffering with bunions lack a sense of carefree acceptance of anything.

Professionals don’t totally agree on what causes them:  flat feet, ill fitting shoes, congenital disposition toward bunions, etc.  This much is certain:  getting surgery to repair bunions is becoming more popular.  Having bunions recur after surgery is also a reality.  Reflexology for the Spirit practitioners can help both before and after surgery.

Wearing proper footwear is important.  You can be a real help to your client if you notice what kind of shoes s/he is wearing and either approve or suggest shoes that you think might be more appropriate.  The wrong kind of footwear can be very destructive to your client partner’s foot health as well as his/her overall spinal alignment.  Bunion sufferers should wear shoes that are well-fitting, non-binding, and have a generous toe box.  They shouldn’t have a heel  higher than 2 inches.  Sandals can offer relief.

If the bunion sufferer also has arch problems, a trip to a professional who can properly fit an arch support is also important.

AREAS TO WORK:  Apply rotations to the solar plexus.  Work the skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, neck area (with neck rotations on the toes), and the circulatory system.  And, always work the bunion area and all the toes.

ESSENTIAL OILS:  angelica, bergamot, geranium, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, lemon, palmarosa, rosewood, jasmine, helichrysum, sandalwood, Roman chamomile.

The next post will focus on Callouses and Corns

Allergies and Reflexology for the Spirit

The next several posts will be devoted to the issues presented by allergies.

Allergies plague many people year round and present spiritual challenges.  Although people don’t realize it, very few people have food allergies.  Most allergy sufferers experience conditions like sinusitis, hay fever, and asthma.  In order to overcome allergies successfully, a real commitment is needed.  Clients suffering from allergies should visit a Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner weekly.  This is a long term commitment, not just a few visits.

They can lessen or prevent outbreaks of sinusitis, hay fever, etc., by avoiding allergy triggers.  This boils down to asking the question:  What is the source of the allergy?

On a spiritual level, allergy sufferers are dealing with a power struggle and how it affects them which translates into allergies.

People allergic to pollens should try to avoid them.  People with sensitivities to indoor allergens should use dust mite covers on their mattresses and pillows and eliminate house dust as much as possible.

Pets are often a source of allergic reactions.  People should not have to give up their pets because of allergies.  after all, pets offer so much.  A couple of things your client partners can do is brush the pets often and bathe them weekly in a shampoo that doesn’t cause an allergic reaction in the humans.

Cats are easy to bathe if you can avoid letting them hear the splashing water.  Gently lower your cat into a sink of warm water.  Soap the cat up, then gently rinse it in warm running water that doesn’t make splashing noises.  Towel your cat dry.   Fold up the used towel and then launder it.

In the next two posts, we’ll be discussing more things your client partners can do to make life with allergies easier.

Moving Forward to the 1500’s and then to Present Day Reflexology

Page0009Moving to the 1500’s and to Europe, Zone Therapy was introduced.  Zone Therapy is a simple way of mapping the foot.  The body is divided into ten vertical zones, five on each size of the spinal column as the median line.  Reflexologists the world over still use Zone Therapy today.

Reflexology changed quite a bit in the 20th century.  In the United States, a physician, Dr. William Fitzgerald, successfully practiced zone Therapy.  He applied his techniques to both hands and feet (preferring the hands) to lessen pain for his patients.  In 1917, Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Edwin Bowers co-authored a book about this work.

Dr. Joseph Riley and his wife studied under Dr. Fitzgerald.  They’re important in this story because of Eunice Ingham who worked with them.  They are the link to Eunice Ingham.

She became a famous reflexologist in Pennsylvania who worked before, during, and after World War II.  She limited her practice to foot reflexology because she felt that sensitivity in the feet increased positive treatment results.

From this glorious history, and recent 20th century trail blazers, we now have thousands of people practicing various kinds of reflexology throughout the world.  Needless to say, a trip to a library, book store, or an internet search offers the reflexologist a variety of recent materials that will teach and inspire.

Beginning with the next post, we’ll learn about Reflexology for the Spirit:  what it is, how it works, how you can use it,

More New Information about Health Issues, Essential Oils, Etc.

flowers (639x512)This is a guide book to be used as a ready reference.  It was written for reflexology students and practitioners at all levels of experience.  It should also help healers and seekers to navigate through the wealth of information needed to become the best practitioner possible.  It evolved from years of teaching Reflexology for the Spirit.

Whether you have a diabetic with unknown allergies or a teenager with acne, each set of feet brings new challenges.  It’s hoped that the organization of information will guide you to find what you need without a lot of searching.

Common ailments and body systems are categorized and organized for ready reference.  Ideas on the spiritual dimensions of medical conditions are offered along with suggested approaches for working the feet.

Included are suggestions on oils which are applicable for specific problems.  Essential oils can be very powerful if you know how to use them.  When you purchase essential oils, choose a brand offering medicinal grade products with “batch numbers” on each bottle.  That’s the only way you can be sure you’re getting what you pay for.  also, try to work with a brand of essential oils offering you some information and training.

If you are offering Reflexology for the Spirit sessions to a client partner with issues, it’s often necessary to forgive a lot of people and events.  Essential oils can positively impact this process.

We begin with a brief look at the glorious history of reflexology.  Along with a description of the benefits, contraindications are also included in the text.

Tomorrow we’ll continue with more information about the processes offered for learning Reflexology for the Spirit along with new information.
