Your Crown Chakra Meditation

A crown chakra meditation is a good place for physical and spiritual healing.  This is where you encounter unconditional love.  You also channel wisdom and inspirational gifts of spirit guides and angelic beings.

Find a quiet, safe space for this meditation.

Begin by getting comfortable.  Sit, or lie down as you breathe slowly, evenly, and deeply to energize your crown chakra.

When you exhale, you release anger, fear, loss, negativity, and any other toxins.

Beginning with your first chakra, check in with each one as you greet it.

Now move up to your other chakras.  Touch or tap each chakra gently with your fingertips and note what sound or image you experience at each one.

You may or may not experience sounds, touch, smells.

You may want to record a word or two in a journal as you journey up your chakra path.

Arriving at your crown chakra, focus on where you are for a few minutes. Touch or tap your crown chakra as you focus on the center of your head.   What sensations do you feel?   Do you find a message here today?

You don’t have to feel, see, hear, or smell anything.  This is especially true if this is your first crown chakra meditation.  Whatever you experience, don’t worry.

Breathe into your crown chakra now.  Your mind is quiet.  Accept this moment as the blessing it is.   Take a few more crown chakra breaths to receive any feedback which may come to you as word, sound, song, image, color, feeling, intuitive message, awareness.

Your feedback may come to you at the moment, or later in the day or even a few days later.  Don’t try to rush things.

As your crown chakra meditation comes to an end, slowly move your body.  Bring yourself to your space gently and calmly.

Return to this meditation any time you want to communicate with your chakras.

3 Ways to Find Yourself in Our New World

Forever changed is our future:

The pandemic and its surrounding life events changed us dramatically.  We each  experienced the pandemic differently.  This event transformed us.  Even if you denied the pandemic and ignored the events…

Especially if you denied the pandemic.

We have a new life now.

Remember those plans you made for the future?  Are the goals the same?  Do they need updating?  Improving?  Now is a good time to update them.

We can keep them as simple or complex as we want.

One thing is still the same:  feeling happy everyday.

Everyday habits keep us healthy and happy.  By that, I’m referring to what we eat, how well we sleep, how much exercise we get…

To plan my life again, I took stock of my days.  I focused on the everyday habits that I never even thought about.  I focused on things I ignored in the past.

I asked:  “What works?  What doesn’t?”

I realized I have a chance to be happy today and tomorrow and next week.

I hope you’ll join me in this review.

First step in your new life:  feel, really feel your feelings.  All that anger, fear, stress, curiosity.  Acknowledge it. Feel it. Somewhere in all those feelings, you’re going to discover happiness.

Spend some time on this.  Feel your past.  Feel your present.  Feel your future.  Take some time now to think joyous thoughts.  Catch those happy thoughts and hang onto them.

In step two, don’t blame anyone  – not even yourself.  When you don’t blame anyone, you jettison everything but happiness.  When you don’t blame anyone, you suddenly control your life as you leave your past behind and move into your future.

In step three, choose happiness.  This is where you have a gift card to all the goodies in the deli.  This is where you choose all the things which make you feel good.  This is where you choose your future.  What you focus on becomes your future.  Meditate on this happy future.  List all the things you like about your happy future.

What comes next!

What comes next is healing!

Practice Reiki with the intention of choosing a happy future.  Heal your future self with Reiki and reflexology.

Your feet are your command center.  Focus on a healthy future for your feet and for the rest of your body.

Did you study Reiki in your past but never really used it?  Now is a good time to bring Reiki with you to your future.

Schedule regular sessions.  The homeostasis offered by Reiki and reflexology cannot be overblown.

The Spirituality of Fear

Full-blown fear isn’t really in my personal vocabulary, so I don’t often feel it.  But, when I do feel fear, I feel it 100%.   I feel fear for us,  and the earth.   This is the spirituality of fear.

When I felt fear in my life, fear interfered with my grounding mechanism.  And, that wasn’t all.  It  took control and moved and directed me throughout every single day.

That is not to say that I have not ever experienced fear.  I have, definitely, lived with fear.  But, this post is not about that fear.  It is for us, our fear, and our Earth.

I feel in my spiritual core that fear is directing many of us nowadays.  Through the guise of the Coronavirus, fear is totally in charge of many of us and our lives.

I am suggesting, no – pleading –  that fear has no place in our lives at this moment.  For one thing, when fear controls us, it wrecks our immune systems.   Not one person on our planet today needs an immune system compromised in any way.

Instead of fear, focus on our planet.    In my inner core, I feel that I need to focus on our precious planet earth because she’s the only planet we’ve got.

With all the cars, factories, ships, and planes grounded and parked, our Earth is getting a very much needed time-out.

During this time, our Earth’s streams, lakes, and oceans are cleaning  themselves up.

The atmosphere surrounding our planet is cleaning itself out – finally!  The humans on our planet are, for the moment, generating less smog.

We are using the dirt – fields, meadows, mountainsides – in different ways now.

So, while our medical, and governmental leaders are figuring out how to combat this pandemic, I can’t help but be grateful for this time out, this cleansing experience on and in  our Earth.

In my spiritual center, I feel we are on the verge of a whole new world.  I am not longingly looking back on the return of the old reality of the past.  The past is gone – a memory which we can write, paint,  and sing about in the future.

Instead,  I look forward to our new world and its cleaner, healthier, reality.

Please join me.

Let us celebrate our  future together.

Let us ponder things learned and create better ways to live our lives daily.

Let us rejoice in a cleaner, more beautiful tomorrow.

Five Things You Can Do For Your Good Health

Good health is not that hard to achieve.  Really.  When it comes down to a bottom line, five things are essential to establishing and maintaining your good health.

NOT SMOKING IS ESSENTIAL.

Do you smoke?  Reduce your habit to five cigarettes a day.  When you are  down to five, you can get to zero with little effort.

Join a smokers’ support group.

Hypnotherapy and Biofeedback both offer successful results for many smokers.

The bottom line is this:  Do whatever you have to do to give up this habit.

MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT.

This is a high priority.  Losing or gaining weight to reach your ideal weight for your good health gets harder with every passing year so the younger you are when you work on your weight, the easier it will be.

Weight Watchers is a good support group.

An interested nutritionist can help you reach your desired goal and include specific foods contributing to your continued good health at the same time.  You’ll get twice the bang for your buck with a nutritionist.

An example of this:  If you need to gain or lose  weight and you have heart health issues, a nutritionist can work on the weight issues along with your heart issues.  I don’t know about you, but I love to be able to do a couple of things together.  I get all involved in the different aspects of synchronicity.

EAT MANY FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.

Many wellness gurus teach five servings of fruits and vegetables are a minimum number for a well nourished person to eat daily.  This five serving recommendation is easy for me to pass on.  And, it’s also easy to have fun with.

I like the concept of thinking about which five fruits and vegetables will be on my  plate today.  Planning ahead for each day’s selection gives them focus and importance.

I also like the idea that advance planning gives me a chance to play and experiment a bit.  You can do this too.  It’s easier than you think.  All you have to do is choose one new vegetable or fruit each week.

Take it home and learn what it’s called.  What countries is it commonly grown in?  Learn how to cook it, store it, combine it with other foods, and finally how to eat it.

If you learn about one new fruit or vegetable each week, your dietary skills will be vastly different in a year.  Adventure!

EXERCISE REGULARLY.

This can be a drudgery or it can be fun.  Your good health options are open here.  Participate in  one or more activities  regularly.  The point is to keep yourself active  daily as you go throughout your life.

You can put in as much time or money as you want here.

You can also combine exercise with other daily habits. I wear an exercise watch which beeps when I’m not moving enough.  It also congratulates me when I’ve gone beyond my daily goal.

I went out and got a second job which requires that I stay off my seat and on my feet.  So, I’m making money while exercising.  I enjoy this a lot.

AVOID STRESSORS.

This can be a biggie.  Stress contributes to many health problems.  Like the sleep suggestion a few pages back, you’ll find a chapter on stress later in this book.  Things like meditation, walks, laughter, sharing, singing, nature bathing, journaling, drawing can help you avoid stress.

Stress relief is important – just as important as your diet and exercise.

Forgiveness

In 1513 Juan Ponce de Leon went exploring for the fountain of youth in what is now Florida.  He found it and it exists.  A branch of it is probably at a fitness center in your community.  I found one in my community.  It’s called the Fitness Connection and is on Albany Avenue in Kingston, New York.

There is a branch of the Fountain of Youth within reach of you.  Can you name one?  Do you use one?  Regularly?

Being tuned into the Fountain of Youth is important.  Don’t ever mistake this.  But, it’s also important to be healed.  The quality of your life will be much better when you can forgive those who injured you in some way.  Forgiveness opens the door to healing.

Without forgiveness, we go through our daily life carrying  anger, blame, fear, guilt, hurt, regret, resentment, revenge, sadness.

Getting rid of  negative baggage can change your life for the better.

Begin to release this negative baggage by listing the people in your life who you need to forgive.  Include yourself in this list if you blame your self for things as well. (Don’t we all?)

Now, spend some time each day  forgiving those who need forgiveness.  You are forgiving people for yourself…nothing more.  You know that when you offer forgiveness, miracles can occur.

Don’t worry about the person anymore.  You are releasing this person’s energy into the universe.  You are releasing this person’s karmic connection to yourself.  You are cutting the cords which have been binding you together.

Healing you never expected will  take place.

How does forgiveness  happen?  How can you make this work for you?

Sit for a few minutes  in a quiet place and offer forgiveness to each person individually:

“I offer forgiveness to …………………………..  I forgive you for …………………………………..

Now, I  am free and you are free, too.  I release you to your divine plan of life.  Everything between us is cleared up, now and forever.”

When you have forgiven everyone you can remember, go into your past lives and offer forgiveness to those  who need it:

“I offer forgiveness to everyone in my past life who has damaged me in some way.  I forgive everyone for whatever he/she did.  Now, I am free and you are free, too.  I release you now.  Everything between us is cleared up, now and forever.”

These forgiveness meditations may take more than a day.  Actually, they may take several weeks or even months.  Don’t worry about this.  Take whatever time is necessary.  Forgive a  person or few persons each day when you have a few moments.

As you do this, notice how you feel when this happens.  Notice how much better you feel with each meditation.  Notice how much better you look.  Notice how much younger you act.  Notice how much excess weight you are losing.

You may not observe any changes immediately.  However, you will begin to see yourself, your environment, and your world improved, healed, more beautiful.

As you forgive people and release them to their divine plans…

You will feel better.

Your vocabulary will change.

Your thoughts will be positive.

You will feel free.

You will feel light.

Replace the negativity with love.

Bring love alive in your life.

Eat, sleep, and breathe love.

The Fourth Chakra and Reflexology

The fourth Chakra reflex point is found on the ball of the foot.  This is where we find the  heart, lungs, breasts, thymus gland, shoulders.  

Fourth Chakra issues include:

self esteem

personal power

intimacy

forgiveness

IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO LEARN ABOUT FOURTH CHAKRA ISSUES WITHOUT QUESTIONING:  

Are you able to express your emotions?

Do you need to protect yourself?

Do you have problems giving and receiving love?

Are you living a divided life?

 Have you created a protective barrier around your heart?

Do you have trouble forgiving people?

Do you fear rejection?

Do you feel vulnerable?

Is it physically/emotionally painful to move forward in life?

Are you hiding your true self from others?

Grief is a fourth Chakra issue.  We know as Reflexology for the Spirit practitioners that grief is housed in the ball of the foot – the heart – the lungs.

The fourth Chakra builds on the lower three Chakras  as our thoughts and dreams take on language, expression.  The fourth Chakra is where the moment of inspiration which took place in the first Chakra, now becomes entire paragraphs, both spoken and written.

The fourth Chakra links the spiritual and physical bodies as well as their issues.  This is because the fourth Chakra is the our energetic center,  working to fuse the physical and spiritual bodies.

When this happens, we are able to touch others as well as allowing them  to touch our lives.  The goal is unconditional love.  A good way to get insight about unconditional love is to pay attention to cats and dogs, 2 creatures which practice unconditional love routinely.

Our heart Chakra  pulls us into relationships involving

intimacy

risk

forgiveness

sensitivities

fear

grief.

Grief is an important fourth Chakra issue.  Grief blocks fourth Chakra energy.   Letting go of grief and wounding opens our hearts.

The state of the fourth Chakra is easily seen in one’s posture.  People suffering with heart Chakra issues may be

round-shouldered

sunken-chested

stiff

rigid.

Unbalanced fourth Chakras can also been seen in people with heart and respiratory problems.  Heart surgery can have a direct impact on the heart Chakra.

Meditations can be important.  Meditations focusing on:

grief

heart opening

breathing

can help balance the fourth Chakra.

When you work with your client partner’s fourth Chakra, you offer the opportunity to help him/her release grief.  It’s in the fourth Chakra that we find

an open heart,

the energy to give,

and a straighter body.

The Second Chakra and Reflexology

The second Chakra reflex point is located on the lower half of the instep on both feet.  This is where the intestines are located.  It’s also where we find the kidneys and the sexual reproductive organs.

Second Chakra issues include

letting go

elimination

release

support

rigidity

finances

relationships

sexuality

control.

IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO LEARN ABOUT SECOND CHAKRA ISSUES WITHOUT QUESTIONING.

What issues are draining you?

Can you let go of negative feelings when it’s necessary?

What feelings are you holding on to?

Are your relationships supportive?

Do you feel financially supported?

Are you centered?

Are you open to positive change?

Are you addicted to pleasure?

How can you ground yourself?

Are your boundaries rigid?

Guilt is a second Chakra issue.  At one extreme, there is the danger of becoming overcome by fear.  At the other extreme, the person may become hedonistic.

If you and/or your client partners want to be healthy, it’s important to have a balanced second Chakra.  Centering is the operative word here. When a person centers the second Chakra, a sense of self is discovered.  When this center is found, it becomes a place where we can merge with the world as we express our emotional, creative, spiritual, and sexual selves.  For me, a centered second Chakra is sacred.

As with the first Chakra, Reflexology for the Spirit sessions offer homeostasis which is the balance of all body systems.

Reiki therapy sessions balance the Chakras.

Meditation can also be important here.  The goal is to meditate on a centered state. In the process, you’ll develop a positive energetic, emotional, and physical sense of self.  That is what the second Chakra is all about – living successfully with one’s self.  

It’s easy to tell how centered the second Chakra is by observing the lower back.  Lower back pain indicates a need to center the second Chakra.

Physically, the second Chakra governs:

the bladder

kidneys

lower back

sex organs

intestines.

When you work with your client partner’s second Chakra, you offer the opportunity to help him/her find the self. It’s in the second Chakra that we find a sense of emotional balance and self esteem.  A balanced second Chakra brings a person home – home to Creation itself.

The Spirituality of the Sciatic Nerves

We are deep in emotional/spiritual territory with the sciatic nerves.  Once a person experiences sciatic pain, the issues are pretty serious.

The sciatic nerves run from the center of the back down the leg.  When sciatic nerves confront issues, the pain goes from the back and down the leg(s).

Medical help is often necessary to relieve the pain.  However, to deal with the emotional/spiritual issues, a different kind of work is also needed.

Nerve issues are concerned with communication, sensitivity, standing up for oneself.  Core beliefs are involved because the pain goes through the back.  Moving forward is a challenge because the legs are involved.

When I see a person suffering with sciatic pain, I often see someone who needs to go in a different direction and for whatever reason is having a difficult time with this.   The feeling is that things are almost impossible.

Sometimes the person needs more support.  Coping with everything alone is just getting to be too hard.

At other times, insight is needed regarding what is actually happening here. The person is suffering at the spiritual/emotional level and the physical body follows up with sciatic issues.

At the bottom of these issues is fear:

fear of one’s survival

fear of money issues

fear of rejection

fear of honesty

Give yourself this supportive meditation.  Work with it until you’re comfortable with it.   Once that happens, you can have much needed positive outcomes.

Begin this meditation by finding a safe, quiet place where you  focus for a few minutes.

Breathe in positive, supportive energy and breathe out any negativity and fear you may be experiencing.  Breathe for 1-2 minutes in this way.

Then, create a spiritual support group for yourself.  Invite in positive energy you need to overcome the fear.  Invite in angels and archangels.  Include ascended masters if you want or saints.  Invite in whomever you feel can help you in a positive way.

What’s important is that you invite in those you feel can be supportive.

One by one, invite members of your spiritual support group to come take a seat beside you.

Allow these supportive group members to  support you and help you move forward to overcome issues  causing fear.  Allow them to offer advice and insight into your situation.

After a few minutes it’s time for your support group members to go.

Remember to invite your supportive group circle to offer you encouragement whenever you feel the need.  When you invite them in, you are taking steps to overcome your issues.

Remember to invite them in to support you when you are concerned about the future and what it brings.  Invite them to help you cope with doubts and fears.  Share your emotional pain and anxiety.

When the session is over, remember to thank these spiritual supporters for all they are doing to help you through this difficult time.

Reflexology blog – What to do about Phlebitis

PHLEBITIS OCCURS WHEN A VEIN IN THE LEG IS INFLAMED.   This usually happens when a clot forms in the vein due to slow blood circulation.  An injury of some kind may be involved.

When the situation is superficial, it’s called phlebitis.  When the situation involves a deep vein, the situation is more serious and is  called deep venous thrombosis.  The symptoms are similar and it’s hard for a person to tell the difference.

THE WISDOM IS THIS:  if you have an area on a leg which is red, swollen, or painful, it’s time to see your healthcare professional right away.  The deep vein clot has the potential to be much more serious than phlebitis.

Are you in a situation where your lifestyle is sedentary?  Are you in a spiritual/emotional situation where things are just not moving?

Don’t ignore Phlebitis.  Do what your healthcare professional says.  Get the exercise you need.  Put your feet up to reduce swelling.  Wear flat heeled shoes.

Whenever possible, walk, run, dance, swim.  Move forward in your life.

WHEN OFFERING REFLEXOLOGY to a phlebitis sufferer, work the circulatory system as you focus on the heart reflex.

Work the endocrine system by focusing on the adrenal gland reflex.

End the session by working the liver and the solar plexus.

Sinusitis – Reflexology for the Spirit Helps

A scourge.  That’s what Sinusitis is.

Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the sinuses.  It can be caused by allergies, pollutants, temperature extremes, and upper respiratory infections.

Several things can be done to deal with sinusitis.  One of the first things is to try to determine what the underlying causes might be:  allergies, dental infection.

If you know you have a tendency to suffer with sinus infections, try to deal with the allergies, use saline nasal sprays daily, and take natural decongestants and immune-enhancing herbs.

Visiting an otolaryngologist and an allergist helps also.  The main thing is to keep the sinuses as clear as possible and to maintain drainage.  This will encourage homeostasis when the reflexology session is given.

People become susceptible to sinus infections when they experience irritation, fear, anger, frustration.  Sinus infections tend to occur when a  person has a difficult situation in life and doesn’t know how to resolve it.

When offering a Reflexology for the Spirit session to a sinusitis sufferer, begin by working the endocrine system with emphasis on the pituitary gland and adrenal gland reflexes.  Work the respiratory system with emphasis on the sinus reflexes.  Focus on the lymphatic system reflexes.  End the session by working the liver and solar plexus.
