The Spirituality of the Brain
The brain is, of course, very spiritual.
The brain is like a computer with a lot of storage. Now, about the mind: no one really knows how the mind works…certainly not I. A question often asked is this: do thoughts come from within or without? I think thoughts come from both within and without.
There’s a strong connection between what happens in our spiritual lives, our emotional lives and our bodies. The roles played by our brain and mind are extremely important to our overall health. The connection between what happens in our daily lives and our bodies is intimate, strong. These parts (mind, body, brain, spirit, emotion) all respond to one another.
Our spiritual lives and our emotional lives offer information to our brains and bodies. This information subsequently becomes reality. Thoughts and feelings have their own energy.
When I write about the brain, it’s impossible to omit the abdominal brain. The brain receives more messages from the intestines then it sends to the intestines. For me, this increases the importance of the abdominal brain. (I will be expanding on abdominal brain information in future posts.)
Negative thoughts, worries, anger, feelings, stress are mental static. Sit quietly in a private space and bring up negativity, worries, stress. Tune them out. Focus on eliminating all negative events and activities from your life.
After this exercise, get yourself a glass jar with a lid, a piece of paper, and a pencil or pen. List all negative worries, stresses, depressing events/thoughts, boredom, patterns, memories on the paper. Remove the lid from the glass jar and put the paper in the jar. Replace the lid on the jar and screw it closed. Put the jar in the trash. Discard the trash.
In the next day or so, return to this quiet, private space and focus on healing and regeneration of self. Encourage your body to build health, vitality. Begin incorporating the following words in your vocabulary:
gratitude
humility
forgiveness.

The Spirituality of Blood
Blood is very exciting stuff.
For one thing, we can’t live without it. If we’re in an accident, and lose too much blood, we will die.
Blood tells the whole story. Often, when we visit the physician, a blood test is ordered. The story is here: our past, our present, our future.
In the womb, we shared our mother’s blood, who shared her mother’s blood, who shared her mother’s blood, and on and on and on to the beginning of time.
That being said, each person’s blood is unique. Like fingerprints, no 2 blood profiles are the same. And, blood changes with life events, nutrition, age. Because of this, there are many issues with blood:
high or low pressure,
circulation,
arteriosclerosis
thrombosis,
stroke
hemorrhage,
varicose vein,
anemia.
If you find yourself dealing with one of the above diseases, you are dealing with a spiritual disease. That doesn’t mean you forget the professional medical practitioner. It does mean that you do what that practitioner tells you to do and you deal with the spirituality issues in other ways.
When I think of the spirituality of blood, questions come to mind:
Have you recently found or lost a loved one?
Are you depressed?
Where are the conflicts in your life?
Are you nourishing yourself sufficiently?
Are you under a lot of pressure?
Are you angry?
Is someone or something threatening you?
Are you rigid with yourself and others?
Do you need to become gentler with yourself and others?
Are you afraid?
Are your life patterns stuck?
Does your lifestyle go against your beliefs?
Is too much going on in your life?
Are there too many people in your life?
What, if anything, is draining your energy?
Now might be a good time to try to deal with these questions one-by-one.
In order to develop the spirituality of your blood, proper diet is extremely important. Don’t just go to the grocery or the pharmacy and buy vitamins and minerals haphazardly. Find a nutritional consultant and get what you need.
No one diet fits all. Find the diet best for you…makes you feel better, helps maintain your weight, results in better blood test results. Your goal is to live a life bringing strength, vitality, purity to your blood.
Guided meditations can be instrumental for spiritual healing.
If you are a Reiki practitioner, give yourself sessions in which you offer an intent to heal and regenerate your blood to its optimum state. If you are not a Reiki practitioner, now is a good time to find one. This might even be a good time to learn Reiki therapy for yourself.
As your blood begins to experience this optimum state, you’ll invite joy, free expression, creativity, balance in your life.
Reflexology for the Spirit sessions are appropriate here. Homeostasis is necessary for the blood and for life in general. Reiki and reflexology work hand-in-hand here to help achieve the spiritual health our bodies need….no, crave.

The Spirituality of the Bladder
The bladder is an emotional/spiritual part of your body which constantly expands or shrinks, based on how much urine is passing through your body.
As you adapt to changing life situations, it is sometimes difficult to respond to needs of the present. It’s hard to leave attachments to the past for unknown future conditions.
WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU MAY FIND THAT YOUR BLADDER REFLECTS YOUR FEELINGS WITH FREQUENT URINATION.
Incontinence often occurs if:
you are unable to adapt to new circumstances,
you find yourself in a hopeless situation,
you experience grief.
Bladder infections often occur in times of strong emotional change:
separation,
breakdown,
moving to a new community,
changing jobs.
Bladder infections are often the body expressing questions you cannot ask in any other way.
That is not to say that these issues don’t need medical attention…because they do. Bladder problems always need attention from a professional healthcare provider. When you have bladder issues, you are on some level asking yourself some serious questions.
Offer yourself Reiki therapy weekly for several sessions.
If you don’t know Reiki therapy, get a practitioner and make 6-8 regular appointments spanning about 2 months. Good forms of Reiki therapy for spiritual bladder issues include Usui, Jin Kei Do, or Lightarian. Set your intention when you receive these sessions to heal the spiritual issues in your life which are being expressed through your bladder problems.
Get regular reflexology sessions. Weekly sessions encourage homeostasis which bring calmness and grounding to both your physical/spiritual situation and emotions. They also work to boost allopathic medications. These 2 things are very important to your overall healing.

The Spirituality of the Arms
Arms are very important in our spiritual lives. We use our arms:
to hug people, as we share love.
to protect ourselves as we fold them across our hearts and lungs.
to manifest our creativity as we paint pictures, plant gardens, build buildings.
to mount attacks as we carry arms to battle.
to lift, carry, and move objects as well as ourselves through lives.
When we are having difficulty moving forward in life, we sometimes break or bruise our arms. They may become weak or tired. They may be stiff and painful. The bruise, break, or pain sometimes offers a respite from the difficult task at hand.
Arms work, essentially, with energy coming from the heart and out through the shoulders as they perform tasks to manifest our inner desires and needs.
One of the most healing things you can do for your arms is to massage each arm with the hand of the other arm. Begin above the elbow as you work your way down to the hand. While massaging your arms, speak to them, offering support and love. Honor the work your arms do all day long everyday.
As you massage your arms, ask them what feelings are stuck in the muscles, tendons, connective tissue. Try to unearth and release any buried negative emotions.
After you have massaged each arm for a few minutes, feel the stress and tension leaving your body. Encourage it to leave through your fingertips.
Include some deep breaths focusing on releasing stress, tension, pain, density, stagnation, blockages.
Breathe in balance, calm, positive feelings.
As you exhale, work to release negative emotions keeping your arms from being calm and focused.
Repeat this massage/exercise for several minutes over a period of 5 consecutive days or until you begin to feel better.

The Spirituality of the Adrenal Glands

People sometimes have issues with the adrenal glands and are unable to identify them as needing balance.
A few tip offs include:
Fatigue
Having experienced so much stress and trauma that you are stuck in the fight-or-flight response.
Panic attacks.
Fear.
Anxiety.
We each have 2 adrenal glands. One is perched atop each kidney. Because there are 2, they come under the category of body parts needing balance. Other body parts needing balance include lungs, and kidneys.
Adrenals are very spiritual third chakra glands which we feel when we experience butterflies in our stomach. Adrenals are part of the endocrine system which also emphasizes their spiritual qualities. The adrenals process fear, anger, excitement and stress overload.,
If your your adrenals need to be balanced, go to a quiet, safe space where you will not be interrupted and get comfortable. Turn on some relaxing music if you like.
Breathe in deeply as you inhale calm. Breathe slowly – deeply – consciously.
As you exhale, breathe out anxiety.
Breathe in positive energy.
Exhale as you release fatigue.
Inhale peace.
As you exhale, let go of all your fears.
Inhale nurturing energy.
Release any panic you may feel as you exhale.
When you feel grounded, place your hands 1″ to 3″ above your body over the area of your adrenals. Hold your hands here for a couple of minutes as you give them a chance to communicate with your body in general and your adrenal glands in particular.
What information are you receiving? Do you feel tingling, heat, cold, nothing? Whatever you feel is good and appropriate for this time and place. Continue this communication for a few minutes until you feel it’s time to finish the session. Now, breathe deeply as you inhale and exhale several times.
The information you receive may not be apparent immediately. It may be several minutes, hours or days before you receive a message. You may receive the communication in a dream.
The important thing is to be open to receiving the information you need whenever and however it comes.
If possible, arrange to receive some Reiki therapy sessions focused on your adrenal health. In addition to Usui Reiki, 2 forms of Reiki appropriate for the adrenals are Lightarian and Gendai.
Essential Oils which work well for adrenal gland function include clove, frankincense, German chamomile, nutmeg, and spikenard.
Weekly Reflexology for the Spirit sessions will encourage homeostasis.

Forgiveness Meditation with Mary, Queen of Angels
Find a quiet place:
A room, or a corner of a room.
A garden.
A place in a park.
Any place where you can be quiet and relax.
Sit quietly as you feel tension leave your body. Feel it drain out of your fingertips and toes.
Take a few breaths. Breathe deeply as you inhale and then exhale.
Now, in your mind, take yourself to a meadow. Sit quietly on a rock located in this meadow. Look around you and notice all you see.
You have come to this meadow to learn to offer forgiveness. You’ve tried throughout your life to offer forgiveness at times when you feel you’ve been wronged. You’ve never felt truly successful in your efforts to forgive someone.
So, you are here today, sitting quietly on a rock located in a meadow.
A person comes to join you. You see Mother Mary, the Queen of Angels.
As she comes to join you, take note of how she looks. What color are her robes? What is her hair like? What does her face look like? Try to notice every detail.
She joins you to help you learn to forgive. Mary will remain with you as long as you need while she assists you in your efforts to forgive.
Mary is here to teach you…
without words,
without pictures…
how to be silent and learn to forgive.
Spend time with her in deep silence, meditating on teachings she offers you now. You know that, as the mother of Jesus, she experienced life events requiring serious forgiveness. Mary persevered. You feel now the experiences Mary had in her life which caused her to learn to live the act of forgiveness.
It’s not necessary to know anything about Mary in order to understand what she’s teaching you. It’s not necessary to be a Catholic, or a Christian even. Mary is recognized not only in Christian theology, but also in Orthodox and Muslim teachings. Mary’s story is universal, touching us all. Her life motivates us to all learn to forgive. Mary belongs to all of us…no matter what our religious beliefs.
When you feel that you have absorbed all you can at this time, you know it is best to go. You thank Mary, Queen of Angels for visiting with you and for teaching you to forgive.
You know Mary is here for you. Feeling gratitude, love, light, you know you can return to this meadow any time you need to visit with Mary again.

3 Ways the Breast Reflexes are Enhanced in a Reflexology Session
Breasts are made up of fat, connective tissue, and mammary glands which are composed of ducts and nodes. Sometimes, when the breast reflex areas are worked, the client-partner feels sensitivity.
When the reflex points of the breasts are worked, the following things happen:
The breast reflexes are encouraged to function efficiently.
Blood and lymph circulation is increased.
Excess fluids and wastes begin to drain.
The breast reflex points are found on both feet on the top of the feet, just down from the tops of the toes.

2 Ways the Pancreas is Enhanced in a Reflexology Session
The pancreas is a digestive system organ. It is also an organ of the endocrine system. It controls sugar, aids in digestion and helps convert food into nutrients. The fact that so many people have diabetes means, for me, that we all need to pay more attention to the pancreas, where it is, and how it works.
The pancreas is located in the body behind the stomach.
When the pancreas reflex points are worked, several things happen:
The pancreas is prompted to regulate blood-sugar levels.
The pancreas secretes digestive juices to break down foods.
The pancreas reflex point is located on both feet, on the medial soles, about halfway down the food between the big toe and the heel. It is larger on the left foot than on the right.

4 Ways the Stomach is Enhanced in a Reflexology Session
The stomach is the primary organ of digestion. It’s a bean shaped bag sitting mostly on the left side of the body under the diaphragm and above the intestines. The stomach constantly changes its size, depending on how much food it’s processing.
When the stomach reflex point is worked, several things happen:
The stomach performs food-mashing functions more efficiently.
The sphincters are encouraged to operate properly.
Blood circulation brings blood to the tissues.
The stomach reflex is found on the left foot below the ball of the foot.

7 Ways the Brain is Enhanced in a Reflexology Session
The brain is the control center for the body. As with other organs of the body, very little is known about what the brain actually does. We know that it houses memories, tells the heart to beat, processes sight and hearing. Scientists are discovering exactly how the brain works.
The brain and the mind are different things. No one knows how the mind works.
When the brain reflex point is worked, several things happen:
The body’s sense of equilibrium begins to activate itself.
The neurological functions become energized.
Both physical and emotional reactions seek balance.
The physical and emotional activities are more controlled.
Organic functions are regulated.
Emotional stress is calmed.
Sleep activities are balanced.
Brain reflex points are located on the tips of the toes on both feet – especially the tips of the big toes.
