Reflexology For The Spirit

Moving Forward? Journey On!

When the time comes to walk away from something that no longer serves its purpose, you may feel a bit reluctant.

On the other hand, maybe you’re running for the door.

Either way, begin the next leg of the journey by setting boundaries.  Rites of passage are always easier when you mentally prepare for the future.

When you set boundaries, you focus on things you want to leave behind.   This is a way to streamline your transition.

Sometimes, when the moment to move on arrives, you know in your heart you’re not ready.  Journey beginnings are easier when you are open-minded.  Accepting help from others and leaving old baggage at the curb will make your passage much, much easier.

A move means you’re changing yourself totally:  your mind,  body, emotions,  spirit.  But it doesn’t stop with you.  Your family, friends, and everyone you interact with will experience the fallout.

Truth seeking can be contagious.  And, when your journey begins to change you…some close to you will join in your venture.  Some will go in a different direction.  Yet others will remain the same, unaffected by the changes moving you, your beliefs, and your activities forward.

Wish them all well and don’t forget to forgive yourself.

DO THIS

Whether your journey is physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or a combination…now is a really good time to journal or chronicle its unfolding.  Write for yourself.  Express from your soul what is going on with you.  Write what flashes into your consciousness.

MEDITATION

Make yourself comfortable – in a chair or on the floor.  You want quiet and safety.

Breathe from deep within your abdomen.  Breathe in calm.  Breathe out negativity. Focus on this deep breathing for a few minutes as you breathe deeply in and out.

After a short time open your eyes and look around.  You are in a room carrying baggage.  You are carrying bags in your hands.  You carry a large backpack on your shoulders and upper back.  They are all full and heavy.

The room gives way to a relaxing beach.  You are at the water’s edge.  You set down your bags and your  backpack.  And you lie flat on the beach.

You look at the sky and see a gentle sunrise as the sun comes up on a new day.

As you pause to enjoy this morning, you gently move your legs and arms.  You move your wrists.  Your spine feels stiff.  Your body is sore from carrying all this baggage.

You gently move the muscles and joints throughout your body.  You take in much needed oxygen for your body.  On an exhale, you send gentle relaxation throughout your body.  The stiffness and soreness disappear.

You close your eyes and relax .  After a few moments, you are ready to return to the room and the activities waiting for you.

You treat yourself to a glass of refreshing water.

Celebrate!

Can you take time today to honor the end of a cycle?.  This is your opportunity to acknowledge your achievements.  It’s also time to explore the spiritual meaning of your life.

This is your celebration because today’s feelings can come only from the inside out.  You won’t get there waiting for someone else to create your happiness for you.

Because happiness comes from within, this is a good time to know and honor a fact of life:  You are the one who brings gratitude and generosity into your life every single day.

How?

Focus on those you love.  Share your heart energy today and every single day.  This is where you find happiness.

you manifested this moment.  This is your own success story.

DO THIS:

Journal a conversation with your inner child.  Explore something you might not have understood in the past.  Offer love and affection to your inner child now.  Explain your feelings.  You are complete as you are.

What do you expect to happen in the future?

Now, lay your hands on your journal and send it love and peace in the moment.

MEDITATION:

Go to a safe, secluded and comfortable space.  Sit in a comfortable chair.

Allow yourself to relax and feel good about your situation and your self.

take several breaths which begin deep within your abdomen.  Breathe in gratitude and positive thoughts. Close your eyes now as you inhale.    As you exhale, visualize all negativity and toxins leaving your body and your space.

You are relaxing now.  As you breathe, feel this calm coming up through your feet and your legs.  Feel this deep relaxation as it enters your entire body.  In a short time, feel your inbreaths filling your entire body with light and positive energy.  All is positive.

After a few moments of in and out breaths, you feel deeply relaxed.

You open your eyes and see that you are sitting in your chair under a large, inflated helium balloon.

You are so relaxed that you feel weightless.

You realize that you, your chair, and your helium balloon are floating up and up and up.

You are are above the trees now.  You look around and see this new vista generated by your place above the trees.

Still rising, you float through a cloud.  Looking down, you see the earth as a ball of light.  You enjoy the love and acceptance coming to you from the earth.

After a few moments, you know that it is time for you to return to your quiet space and your celebration of your self.  You begin to float down, down, down.

You return to this space where you began your journey feeling happy and relaxed.

You take a deep breath.  You know you can return to this journey any time you want.

Finding Time

My schedule is packed.  It’s jammed.

But, that’s okay. It’s an uptown problem.

Each day, I know I’m going to find some real jewels throughout my schedule.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is this:  When my schedule is totally out of control, the universe will deal with the situation.  Someone will cancel or something quirky will happen which will result in a beautiful hole.

Finding time is like finding a wonderful, shiny object.

It’s not so important to worry about what or when or how much time you’re going to find..

Those are details.

What’s important is to be prepared…

Know what you’re going to do when you find a few extra 5 or 6 minutes or maybe even a whole hour.  These are perfect moments in your day that can be used however you want.  Make your “found time” list.

Get lost in a book.

Go for a quick stroll.

Sip a tea.

Meditate.

Plan.

Journal.

Stare out the window – even if you’re not in front of a window.

Disconnect.

Switch off.

Whatever you do with these “found” moments, the important thing is to carve out these pockets of time for yourself.

8 Ways to Get a Good Night’s Sleep

I estimate that one third of your client partners have problems sleeping.  Many of them have just given up on getting a good night’s sleep.  This is not a good thing because there are many things that a person can do to sleep well…every night, not just once in awhile.

A person who gets enough sleep looks and acts healthier because there is more energy available to do the things to get through the day successfully.  So, here are some suggestions that have proven to be successful.  Try them.  Share them.

  1.   Receive a reflexology session every week.  People who get reflexology regularly  tell me they sleep better.  This is important for practitioners, too.  I receive a session weekly.  It’s one of the most important things I do in life.
  2.   Reiki sessions are wonderful for sleep.  Do you teach Reiki?  Attune your clients to be reiki practitioners so they can give themselves sessions every night when they go to bed.  Sleep is sure to follow.  A well intentioned Reiki therapy session is better than a sleeping pill.
  3.   Have a regular sleep schedule so that you go to bed every night at the same time.  Schedule your evenings so that you plan on sleeping 7-8 hours every night.
  4. An hour before going to bed, turn off loud music, scary TV shows, and consciously wind down.
  5. Do you have a lot of things to do tomorrow?  Before you go to bed, make out a list of all the things you have to do tomorrow.  Then, put that list in another room and forget about it until tomorrow.
  6. Make your bedroom a sanctuary for sleep.  This means moving all the clutter and junk to another part of the house.  That includes the TV and anything else that is a sleep distraction.
  7. Take a look at your bedding.  When was the last time you bought pillows, sheets, blankets?  Does your mattress sag in the middle?  Are you sleeping in worn out sweat pants with holes?  It’s time to focus on sleep-inducing comfort.
  8. Get a pen and journal notebook.  Early in the evening, every evening, spend a few moments writing about one thing that you feel thankful for.

Thanks for reading this blog post.  I will be offering more sleep tips throughout the coming year.

The book “A Healer’s Handbook is available as an ebook on Amazon an d Nook.  The paper version is available on my website:  thurmangreco.com.  So far, the response to the book is very positive.

Thanks again.
