Reflexology For The Spirit

spirituality of one's health

What is the Practical Application? – Part 1

In our last post, we discussed hand health.

As a Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner, your focus is on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person’s health.  Your job is to facilitate homeostasis.

This process begins when a person calls for an appointment.  How did the person on the phone hear about you?  Has this person ever received reflexology before…or any other bodywork?  Does the person practice yoga, tai chi, etc.?  Are there regular visits to a chiropractor?  If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, try to schedule your appointment within 24-48 hours of one of these activities.

Keep the paperwork to a minimum…especially for the first 4-5 visits.  Focus on the feet…or hands.  You’re going to learn what you need without a lot of forms.  After several visits, your client partner will willingly and happily tell you everything you need to know.  Then you can begin to build in-depth information charts and files.

When a person arrives for the first visit, offer several cd’s to choose from, and anoint your client with an essential oil which you feel is appropriate.  Don’t go overboard here on the oil selection.  If the oils are good quality, whichever one you two agree on will be good.  There are some very professional reflexologists practicing with fewer than 5 oils in the arsenal.  And, there is at least one who uses 2 oils exclusively.

As you begin to offer warm ups and work the feet, please notice the spiritual health clues they will offer you.  Are the feet a particular color?  Do you see bruises?  What about corns, calluses, bunions, patches of thickened skin, hammertoes, etc?  Are the arches high or low?  Where are your findings located?

Generally speaking, when you encounter corns, calluses, bunions, thickened skin, swollen areas (edema), the person is in a protection mode.  If you observe areas that are sunken, the person has “shut down” in some area.

The next post will continue with practical applications of Reflexology for the Spirit.

Who Should Receive Reflexology for the Spirit?

The short answer here is almost everyone.  Reflexology for the Spirit is safe for people of all ages.

Because Reflexology for the Spirit brings balance on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels through homeostasis, it’s a wonderful tool to be used in our everyday lives.

Babies respond very well to short, gentle sessions.  this is a great way to bond with your little loved ones.

Children respond well also.  Sessions with children are shorter than they are for adults.  (Children’s feet are much smaller.)  Children are more receptive to Reflexology for the Spirit when they learn that it helps their sniffles, etc.

Women are wonderful recipients of Reflexology for the Spirit.  The balancing effects of the sessions help women with their cycles and offer support in the perimenopausal years.  For women, Reflexology for the Spirit is a practical wellness tool when used to help their family and friends.  Many everyday health issues faced in a family can be improved with regular sessions.  Reflexology also offers women the relaxation they need to get through a stressful week in their lives.

Men are especially appreciative of Reflexology for the Spirit.  Many men are in professions that stress their shoulders, hands, feet, legs, etc.

Many chronic illnesses and conditions can be balanced out and minimized or eliminated through regular Reflexology for the Spirit sessions which encourage homeostasis.

Seniors love Reflexology for the Spirit because it offers improved circulation, pain relief, better sleep, etc.  Reflexology for the spirit also offers something that many seniors need:  the healing power of touch.

Colon Cleanses and Liver Cleanses: What do They Have to do With Reflexology?

Colon and liver cleanses are referred to throughout this blog/book.  They’re important to one’s overall health if the goal is homeostasis.  It’s very hard to achieve homeostasis with a toxic body.  Diseases and health issues are easier to deal with when the body is clean.

It’s been said that health begins and ends in the colon.  For me, this statement is true.

Colon cleanses are neither expensive nor complicated.  Basically, you go to your local health food store, select an item from the  colon cleanse products on the shelf, take it home and follow the direction.  Cleanses involve taking pills or powders for a specific period of time such as a week.

For the most part, cleanse product are gentle and easy to take.

Liver cleanses are usually found on a different shelf.  You do the same thing with liver cleanses that you do with the colon cleanses:  Select a product, follow the directions.

Remember:  Complete the colon cleanse before you begin the liver cleanse.  If you take the liver cleanse before the colon cleanse, you may not feel well during the cleanse.   This is also true if you take both the colon cleanse and the liver cleanse together.  The uncomfortable feeling occurs when too many toxins are released at the same time.

You need to have the colon clean before you begin the liver cleanse because when the liver releases toxins, you need a clean colon to wash the toxins from the body.

That’s it.

Thanks again for reading this post.  Our next post will focus on the many benefits of a Reflexology for the Spirit session.  Hope you’ll join in on this post  as well.  As always, this post comes to you from my healing space in Woodstock, NY

Reflexology for the Spirit is an Attitude, not a Technique, Part 1 of 2

There are diseases requiring conventional allopathic medical therapy, complementary therapy, as well as healing therapy which touches the soul.

Not all reflexology sessions and not all reflexologists are spiritual.

A reflexology session and a reflexologist enter the realm of Reflexology for the Spirit healing when the intention is placed, when the medical condition requires it, and when your client partner is willing to cooperate.

Occasionally, you will have a client partner who seems to be on board with Reflexology for the Spirit but, for whatever reason, is unable to accept the healing balance (homeostasis) that this modality offers.  So, you are then back to basic, mechanical reflexology.  When a person rejects the spiritual aspect of reflexology, it’s because s/he is too sensitive for the work, the spiritual path of the disease does not permit this effort, the client is not ready to receive it, or it is not needed.

Not all reflexology sessions are spiritual in nature even if the reflexologist has been trained to provide Reflexology for the Spirit to client partners.

Reflexology for the Spirit is called for when the client has an unresolved physical, emotional, or spiritual issue.

Often a person will come to the Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner with a physical or other issue which has not been resolved by a health care practitioner.

(Please note, there is a big difference between a person explaining to you that the MD wanted to do A, B, and C and s/he just didn’t want to go there and someone explaining to you that s/he has gone to several MDs, and tried everything they offered and, still, no one has been able to resolve the issue.)

Thanks again for reading this post.  This subject will be completed  in the next post.

Swollen Ankles and Feet can be Troublesome to Your Client Partners

Focus warm ups on the swollen areas in addition to your regular warm ups.  Schedule appointments later in the day when edema sufferers seem to have the most problems.

Try to get your client partner to consult  a medical professional.  Often, people don’t realize  these issues can be symptoms of systemic problems needing medical attention.  You’ll offer relief and solace to the spirit and you are going to reduce swelling but

a physician needs to give a diagnosis.

The underlying cause of edema needs to be addressed.

SYSTEMS TO WORK:   warm ups to the swollen areas, urinary system, immune system, nervous system, digestive system with emphasis on the liver, circulatory system,  and the solar plexus.

ESSENTIAL OILS:  tangerine, geranium, German chamomile, wintergreen, peppermint, lavender, grapefruit, helichrysum.

Thanks again for reading the blog.  Our next post is the final one in this portion of the book/blog.  It will focus on Thickened Nails and Skin.  After the post on the Thickened Nails and Skin, we’ll be shifting gears to focus on other factors important to a Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner.

Multiple Sclerosis , an Extremely Spiritual Chronic Disease, Affects the Nervous and Immune Systems.

A person often has MS for several months or years before anyone diagnoses it properly.  Its cause, and cure, is unknown.  Multiple Sclerosis affects more women than men.Treatment focuses on the symptoms and efforts to modify the attacks.

Reflexology for the Spirit offers MS sufferers a method of encouraging the return to balance (Homeostasis).  This is especially important for MS sufferers because stress seems to make the symptoms worse.  And, Reflexology for the Spirit is a wonderful stress reducer.  Regular sessions can also help sufferers cope  with numbness, dizziness, tremors, fatigue, pain management, etc.  Encourage weekly sessions.

DO NOT HEAT THE TABLE OR OVERHEAT THE ROOM.

MS sufferers are dealing with fear and a strong, inflexible personality.  Think steel here.  Tough.  Inflexible.

In addition to regular sessions, there are a couple of things MS sufferers can try.  The first is to try to take part in a medical trial.  The second:  Don’t ignore the pain.  It’s a very real symptom of MS and affects the quality of an MS sufferer’s life.  Avoid fevers if at all possible.  This means an annual flu shot as well as staying away from people who might have a contagious disease.  Finally, avoid stress as much as possible.

AREAS TO WORK:  immune system, liver, solar plexus.  Include Reiki therapy also.

ESSENTIAL OILS:   juniper, wintergreen, frankincense, rosemary, basil, helichrysum, peppermint, thyme, marjoram.

Indigestion can Definitely be Treated with Regular Reflexology for the Spirit Sessions.

However, as with all spiritual afflictions, more is going to be needed than just a session or two.  Lifestyle changes are needed.  Does your client partner smoke, live a sedentary lifestyle, need to lose weight, or have other medical conditions contributing to the discomfort?  Regular sessions focusing on the digestive tract offer support for positive lifestyle changes.

Once your client partner feels better, the motivation to eat better, get exercise, stop smoking, etc. is stronger.

The importance of working the digestive system regularly cannot be overestimated.  A healthy digestive system improves how the entire body functions.

AREAS TO WORK:  digestive system, immune system, endocrine system, nervous system, liver, solar plexus.

ESSENTIAL OILS:  wintergreen, peppermint, nutmeg, fennel, ginger, spearmint, and grapefruit.

Thanks for reading this post.

Our next post will address Multiple Sclerosis.

We All Suffer From Fatigue at One Time or Another

Some people are so tired all the time they just ignore it.   This is a total mistake.  It’s often the first symptom of many, many illnesses including flu, chronic fatigue syndrome, thyroid problems, cancer, anemia, allergies, sinus infection, sleep deprivation, depression.

Fatigue can be one of the most important symptoms we experience warning us of disease.  It can also be the symptom of a person whose emotional, physical, and spiritual reserves are empty.

Encourage your client partner to visit a primary healthcare provider who’s going to pay attention to his/her symptoms and try to find the cause.  Whether the cause is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, your Reflexology for the Spirit sessions will support your client in the quest for a life with more positive energy.

When you offer regular sessions to fatigue sufferers, you offer an opportunity to find deep relaxation and homeostasis.

Visits to a nutritionist to balance their diet and vitamin intake will help.

SYSTEMS TO WORK:  Until the healthcare provider offers a diagnosis, work the immune system, skeletal system, nervous system, endocrine system, digestive system, liver, and solar plexus.  After a diagnosis is offered, work the systems necessary for dealing with these issues.

ESSENTIAL OILS:  Until you receive a proper diagnosis from a healthcare provider, choose from peppermint, nutmeg, lemongrass, juniper, basil, lemon, rosemary, black pepper, thyme.

Eczema is an Itchy, Red Skin Irritation which Itches Before the Redness Appears

The eczema skin irritation first appears in itchy patches.

Several factors bring about eczema:  stress, immune system overload, and allergies, all of which will respond positively to regular Reflexology for the Spirit sessions.  However, your client partner needs to identify what triggers the outbreaks and to adopt self-care strategies to control the problem.

Many eczema sufferers also have asthma.

Often, an eczema sufferer struggles with negative attitudes toward events in his/her life.  When these occur, you see an eczema outbreak.

Typical things which set off an eczema bout include certain foods, drugs, animal dander, some metals, fragrances, cleaning products.  Emotional stress, anger, poor circulation, and weather changes can compound the problem.

A little sun daily (10 minutes or so) can be helpful.

As with all immune system disorders, a clean environment is critical.  This includes the home, car, air, water, body, workplace.  Once a person begins to clean out the toxins, the body will have a chance to improve.  Cleaning out involves discarding all the toxic cleansers and cosmetics in the home and replacing them with non-toxic cleansers and cosmetics which aren’t going to exacerbate the eczema.

Your client partner will be embarking on a journey of clean living which includes a diet free of toxins, chemicals, etc.

Since real health begins and ends in the colon, the next step is a colon cleanse.

Once the environment is cleaned up and the body is cleaned out, it will be easier to cope with stressful issues.

A hypoallergenic moisturizer is essential.

AREAS TO WORK:   immune system, liver, lymphatics, digestive system, solar plexus

ESSENTIAL OILS:  lavender, frankincense
