Reflexology For The Spirit

Your Throat Chakra – What is your deepest truth?

Back in December, I did some research and wrote a story about Archangel Gabriel and the birth of Jesus.

The first thing I learned was that Archangel Gabriel is a patron of communicators.  This includes radio, TV, computer communications, telephone, and even postal workers.

I learned from my research into the birth of Jesus that Archangel Gabriel actively participated in this event.  My research revealed clearly that Gabriel used varied communication techniques with each person he encountered as he managed the fulfillment of this prophecy.

When Gabriel visited Elizabeth and Mary, for example, he spoke to each of them in a way which they could understand.  Gabriel met each person where they were in life.

Gabriel then, in a few sentences, changed their lives.

Your throat chakra is where your truth manifests itself.

This is where you connect to wisdom.

Your ideas come from your first chakra.

When your ideas travel to your second chakra, you examine them from a practical standpoint – money for example.

At the third chakra, you examine your emotional attachment to your idea:  You consider whether or not this idea will win or lose.

At your fourth chakra, you ask yourself if your heart is involved.

At the fifth chakra, your idea is developed to the point where sentences, paragraphs, whole messages organize themselves to become your truth.

Your truth sits at the center of your throat.  It’s corresponding gland is the thyroid gland.  I think it’s significant that the thyroid glands are all about energy.  It takes a balanced throat chakra and a thyroid to deal with one’s truth.

Authenticity takes a lot of energy.  Your throat chakra works to deliver your message in truth and integrity.

Because your throat chakra deals in truth, corresponding health issues are bound to surface.  They include diseases of the throat, larynx, tonsils, and ears.

Your throat chakra’s effectiveness can be diminished by life events.

Injury, physical and emotional abuse, will harm your throat chakra.

Grief, anger, and fear will shut it down.

Dishonesty and gossip will compromise your throat chakra’s effectiveness.

When we don’t honor our truth, our integrity goes into default.

The throat chakra is focused on your message and its truth.

A life goal is to learn to mean what you say.

Your daily life can authenticate your communication.  This can become difficult if you are in a job or other life situation where your truth is not valued.  So much of our lives these days seems to challenge the facts.

To make things more complex, we all have childhood memories where we were not allowed to speak or we were not allowed to reveal things we knew.

Protecting your throat chakra boils down to living with your personal integrity.

The truth of our personal integrity is under assault in these times.

Your authenticity depends on you to express your true feelings, wants, and needs.

Your throat chakra also requires that you listen carefully to what is being communicated to you.  When you do this, you are participating in a sacred connection.

When this happens, you are able to stand in your truth.  This communication means that you listen to people when they respond.  You listen to other points of view.

You are able to solve problems, and support others.

This is a wonderful thing!

Are you fat, frazzled and exhausted? – Have you thought about your Endocrine system?

I never even thought about my endocrine system until I went to Potomac MyoTherapy Institute.  And, even then, I wasn’t sure what it was.  It wasn’t until I practiced reflexology and Reiki therapy that I really became involved with how important the endocrine system is.

So I have some questions for you:

Do you sleep poorly?

Do you get colds and other infections easily?  Are they hard to kick?

Are you depressed, anxious, or irritable?

Has your sex drive disappeared?

Do you have clawing pains on your legs?

Are you worried about a heart attack?

That’s a lot of questions, but, really, if you are tired, anxious, overweight, or in pain, you may have an issue with your endocrine system.

There are many endocrine systems glands.  The three most likely to cause problems are your thyroid, adrenal gland, or reproductive glands.

In many cases these deficiencies can be easily diagnosed and safely treated.  After you’ve discovered the issue and corrected it, you can feel like a new person again.

I know I did.

Before my  underactive thyroid was discovered, I was a walking zombie.

I went to bed at night exhausted and did not wake up feeling any better the next morning..

I was forgetful and couldn’t focus.

I gained a lot of  weight and couldn’t lose not even one ounce.

My muscles ached and I couldn’t lift much.

My skin and hair were dry, dry, dry.

I was cold – always.

And, these were just the problems I had with my thyroid.  Even so, I never really appreciated my endocrine system until I struggled with my thyroid.

Fortunately, I stumbled on a physician who saw my situation for what it was and I got the pills.  And, that is not to say there were no problems along the way.  I’ve been overmedicted, undermedicated, and not medicated over the years.

Overall, the pills are doing their job.  Regular reflexology sessions helped – a lot.

Your endocrine system is much more than your thyroid.  Your endocrine system includes glands located throughout the body which normalize how your body works and communicate with your chakra system.

Your endocrine system is the most spiritual system of your body.  When a reflexologist focuses a session on the endocrine system, the session can have long lasting, transformational effects.

When one or more of your endocrine system glands is stressed or unbalanced, your whole being knows it.  Why?  Your endocrine system glands manufacture hormones which control your life.  If a gland produces too much or too little of a hormone, your body knows about it.  That’s because your glands regulate every other system in your body.

When even one gland doesn’t work, everything is out of balance.  Your entire body is bothered.  Even your chakras are affected.

That’s my take on it anyway.

And, there are several glands throughout your body – all of which work together.  Or not.  I used my thyroid as an example.

I’m not suggesting that everyone has an unbalanced thyroid.  Other hormone imbalances  include adrenals, estrogen and progesterone imbalances, and testosterone.

Do you think you might want to learn more about your endocrine glands?  They are interesting.  Even their names are interesting:  parathyroid, pineal, thymus, pancreas.

Ongoing reflexology and Reiki therapy sessions encourage homeostasis which will work to balance your total body. But, you may need more support than a weekly session.

Have you ever visited an endocrinologist?

I’m always amazed at the number of people who have never made an appointment with an endocrinologist.  Actually, most of them never really ever heard about endocrinology.

Your body begins to break down from the effects of an unbalanced endocrine system.  An exhausted endocrine system can and does produce a long list of symptoms because an exhausted endocrine system can produce problems with other systems:  your immune system, your digestive system, your circulatory system, your…  You get the picture.

The bottom line is that you are finally unable to deal with life’s challenges.

There comes a time when you may be ready to get to the heart of the matter.  When this happens, and you discover the cause of your problems, you may begin to feel like a new person.

You are ready for a happy, healthy, natural ending to your story.

I’ve published articles on this blog for years.  You may find some further information about your endocrine system in previous posts.

Your Liver, Your Life and 2020 – 10 Liver-Friendly Tips

We’re just fresh into the new year.  2020 is here!

For many of us, the new year brings intestinal and liver cleanses encouraging the good health resolution we always make.  Both in my wellness book and my blog posts, I refer to cleanses.

What better time is there for a cleanse than now – in January of the new year?

I always recommend an intestinal cleanse before the liver cleanse.  Actually, the two cleanses are partners working together for your good health.

STEP ONE is an intestinal cleanse designed to detox  your digestive system.  When your intestinal tract is clean, you will feel better, have more energy, and be more alert.  But, a key  purpose of this intestinal cleanse is to prepare you to detox your     liver.

If you detox your liver before cleaning  your intestinal tract, you may overload your digestive system.  The result may not leave you feeling better, more alert, and energetic.

So, the best way to go is to detox your intestinal tract first.

STEP  TWO is a liver detox.  With a clean intestinal tract, the toxins will leave your body much easier.

When you think about your liver and what it does, it only makes sense to have a liver cleanse last.

Your liver is your body’s largest and most complex organ.   Some textbooks describe the tasks your liver performs in the hundreds.  How can one organ in the body do all the things it’s supposed to do?  Your liver processes your food nutrients, removes contaminents, stores minerals and vitamins, regulates blood clotting.  On top of the many things your liver does, it regenerates itself.

Your liver is vital to your health and wellbeing.

So, your liver should thank you for giving it a detox.

And, after your  detox, your liver should  easily and effectively process all the things you put in your body.  What can you do after your detox to help keep it in good running order?

There are several things you can do which will help your liver function better…especially if you have health issues affecting  your liver.

ENJOY A CUP OR TWO OF COFFEE.  Caffeine is good for your liver.

LOW-FAT FOODS.   Avoid saturated and trans fats which don’t go well with a fatty liver.

SKIP THE SUGAR.  Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to eat few to no sweets.

GET THE SALT OUT.  Too much salt in your diet contributes to high blood pressure which is hard on your liver.

EAT MORE FRUITS AND VEGGIES.  These foods offer a variety of vitamins and minerals which are easier to digest than the supplements themselves.

GO FOR WHOLE GRAINS.  Brown rice, beans, whole grain breads are preferred.

WATER, WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE.  Drink a lot of water…everyday.

SKIP RAW FISH AND MEATS.  Your goal is to avoid introducing harmful bacteria to your liver.

SKIP THE ALCOHOL.  If you have health issues, alcohol is too stressful on your body.

So, there you have it.   I truly hope this list will help you and your whole body health maintenance in the coming year.  These tips are all liver-friendly.  Your liver is important to your overall health – every day.

Maintaining Your Good Health – Inner Fitness for Life

We each have an inner core, a spiritual center needing encouragement, support and protection.  Your inner core lets you travel through life with minimal bumps.  When encouragement, support, and protection are deficient in some way, you run a risk of developing a lack of self-confidence.  There are ways to give yourself a boost.  Life is easier with a strong inner core.

THINK POSITIVELY

Put yourself in a positive frame of mind before you even get out of bed.  Ask yourself:  “What can I be happy about?  What makes me happy?”

CONNECT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY

Volunteer someplace.  Get a job.  Read a local paper.  Use your library.  Get into your community.

INCLUDE EXERCISE OF SOME KIND…EVERY DAY

In 1513, Juan Ponce de Leon discovered the Fountain of Youth in what is now St. Augustine, Florida.  The Fountain of Youth still exists and keeps people everywhere healthy.  There is at least one branch of it in your neighborhood, located on the sidewalk or roadside where you can walk every day.  If that’s not a good option for you, the other nearby branch is in your local fitness center.  You’ll be healthier and your body will thank you if you visit one of these branches every day.

CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT

De-cluttering is a bit of a fad and it’s okay with me.  This grounding and uplifting exercise has become part of my daily schedule.  I spend fifteen minutes every day clearing out clutter in a room.  There are books written about it.  Reading one is a good idea if you need a starter boost.  Whether or not you read a book about de-cluttering, your inner self will be more fit when you adopt this habit.

REVIEW YOUR SITUATION

Now might be a good time to journal about important events in your life.  Or short stories.  Or poems.  Or anything that seems appropriate for you.  You don’t necessarily need to focus on what happened to you.  The important thing is what you did with what happened to you.

SUPPORT YOURSELF

Do something nice for yourself.  Think nice thoughts about yourself.  Your nice thoughts about yourself are a treat, a gift you give you give to yourself.  You deserve it.

Your Longevity – And a Healthy Living Attitude

The first step toward achieving your longevity goals is a healthy living attitude.

Healthy living is much easier when you feel what you’re doing is important and when you feel like you’re going to succeed when you  develop your new healthy habits.  Optimism is the necessary ingredient in a healthy living attitude.

Healthy living is a journey toward a goal.  You can travel on the healthy living attitude express every day if you know in your heart that you’re going to be successful.

One of the hardest things to do in life is lose weight.  The only thing harder is keeping it off.  And, really, the most important ingredient in this  whole lifestyle change is your healthy living attitude.

I know you can do it.  I know you can adopt whatever habits you need to achieve your longevity goals.  I know you can do it because I did it.  And, the one thing that made the difference  was my healthy living attitude.

I tried many times throughout the years to lose weight – to no avail.  Diets were depressing.  Blah. Blah. Blah.

This last try was different.  Why?  I experienced  an attitude adjustment which worked!  I’m not sure what happened.  I was just ready to be free of all the extra pounds.  It was  just time.  I was ready to let go of all the excuses that I’d been clinging to for years:  my bum thyroid, my menopause, a business which sapped my strength every day and took over 80 hours a week on a slow week.

I  woke up one day and realized I wanted to be free.  I faced up to the fact that I was  both the problem and the solution.

At that moment, my diet unfolded in front of me.  And,  I was off and running… away from failure, extra pounds, doubt.  The healthy living attitude took control.

I began cutting out carbs and started talking to my thyroid.  I also spoke to my body.  I knew  the extra weight  surrounding my body was no longer a necessary part of my self.  My new authenticity simply didn’t require so much protection.

My healthy living attitude was all  I needed to protect me.

I dieted for seemingly ever.  I didn’t buy a single new outfit for at least six months.  And, it was all okay.  Walking around in roomy clothing was fine for me.  I was free!  I was proud of the pounds I lost.

No one can do this for you.  When you have the right attitude about your family, your work, and your health, you can do just about anything.  You will see that all the parts of your life are connected and you can succeed at anything you care about doing.

When the time is right ,  your path will reveal itself to you.  Your job will then be  to show up as your authentic self and do the work.  When this happens, know that your success is already making its way to you.

You will learn to access your energy system  for direction, energy, motivation.  You will be inspired to follow the directions.  If something surfaces which  doesn’t resonate with you, leave it be.  Work with those things which touch your authentic self as you become comfortable with your  healthy living attitude.

Through trial and error, your inner authentic self will guide you to your success.   You will achieve your goals and you will learn that you are not broken.  You are, instead, finding yourself.
