When you work the Digestive System, you Help the Intestinal Trct Normalize Itself
Constipation is common in people seeking the services of Reflexology for the Spirit Practitioners. The good news is that the condition seldom continues as regularly scheduled Reflexology for the Spirit sessions progress. This is true of both children and adults.
Risk factors for constipation include a sedentary lifestyle, eating a low-fiber, high-fat diet, not getting enough liquids and, in my opinion, not getting enough vitamin C.
It’s difficult for the human body to achieve optimum health without a clean intestinal tract. Many conditions throughout the body can be improved as the intestinal tract begins to function properly.
Often, when you have a client partner coming for regular session to deal with constipation, you will begin to see a person who feels better, looks better, develops better eating habits, has more energy, and has a more generous outlook on life.
Although sessions offer a gentle detox, a colon cleanse followed by a liver cleanse will improve things immensely.
In normalizing colon function, dry brushing after bathing, lymphatic cleansing with exercise, weekly Reflexology for the Spirit sessions and regular use of a mini trampoline in addition to the cleanse will help.
AREAS TO WORK: digestive system, immune system, lymphatics, urinary system, liver and solar plexus
ESSENTIAL OILS: anise, peppermint, ginger, fennel, tarragon

Calluses and Corns Can Be Troublesome and Represent Spiritual Challenges
The impact calluses and corns have on your client partner depends on where they’re located on the foot or toes.
For many, they’re protective armor and a defense mechanism representing the soul crying out for protection from unbearable outside events. For example, a callus in the heart area of the foot deals with protection from problems of the heart that have become difficult. Calluses and/or corns on the throat area of the foot represent problems relating to communication. And, calluses on the heel area connect with core beliefs.
There’s a relevant place for Reflexology for the Spirit when dealing with these spiritual issues. If you have a client partner coming to you regularly with calluses and/or corns, please refer him/her to a podiatrist to treat the medical aspects. People shouldn’t self treat these conditions because they can end up with worse problems than they began with. And, if your client partner is diabetic, it’s even more important to seek medical help.
Several trips to the chiropractor are in order here if your client partner’s gait is being impacted upon. A properly aligned spinal column helps overall health.
After that, it’s up to you, the practitioner to facilitate the spiritual and emotional healing which accompanies regular sessions.
Your client partner should be able to move forward as issues resolve.
AREAS TO WORK:
ESSENTIAL OILS: tea tree, lavender, Roman or German chamomile.

Bunions are Definitely Spiritual Afflictions
They’ve been around for generations and generations. Because of their location on the foot, bunions are a way of dealing with love (the loss thereof). People suffering with bunions lack a sense of carefree acceptance of anything.
Professionals don’t totally agree on what causes them: flat feet, ill fitting shoes, congenital disposition toward bunions, etc. This much is certain: getting surgery to repair bunions is becoming more popular. Having bunions recur after surgery is also a reality. Reflexology for the Spirit practitioners can help both before and after surgery.
Wearing proper footwear is important. You can be a real help to your client if you notice what kind of shoes s/he is wearing and either approve or suggest shoes that you think might be more appropriate. The wrong kind of footwear can be very destructive to your client partner’s foot health as well as his/her overall spinal alignment. Bunion sufferers should wear shoes that are well-fitting, non-binding, and have a generous toe box. They shouldn’t have a heel higher than 2 inches. Sandals can offer relief.
If the bunion sufferer also has arch problems, a trip to a professional who can properly fit an arch support is also important.
AREAS TO WORK: Apply rotations to the solar plexus. Work the skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, neck area (with neck rotations on the toes), and the circulatory system. And, always work the bunion area and all the toes.
ESSENTIAL OILS: angelica, bergamot, geranium, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, lemon, palmarosa, rosewood, jasmine, helichrysum, sandalwood, Roman chamomile.
The next post will focus on Callouses and Corns

Arthritis and Reflexology for the Spirit, Continued
When an arthritis sufferer uses all the health care professionals available to him/her, the results are better. Fewer drugs will be consumed. That’s an important result.
A Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner deals with the problems presented by arthritis over the long haul. When working with an arthritis sufferer, you need to learn about all the things s/he can do in the self help arena. Try to learn all the things that the rheumatologist recommends. When you know these things, you can work with them. Know about recommended exercise therapy. How does acupuncture fit into the overall picture? What does the nutritionist recommend?
Optimum improvement depends on repeated, regular visits to the Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner’s table. The other specialists will “come and go” as needed in the client partner’s life. You, on the other hand, owill be seeing this person weekly.
Arthritis sufferers often postpone getting needed treatment necessary for relief. This is not a good approach. The sooner your client partner begins to aggressively combat arthritis, the better off s/he will be – even years down the line.
When working with an arthritis sufferer, regardless of the type, keep in mind that you are dealing with a person who cannot help being overly critical both of self and others. Many arthritis sufferers appear to harbor resentment and blame in many areas of life. This is a huge statement considering the number of people suffering with arthritis.
AREAS TO WORK: solar plexus, entire endocrine system, urinary system, immune system, nervous system, digestive system, circulatory system, liver, solar plexus and individual joints the client partner is suffering with.
ESSENTIAL OILS: wintergreen, peppermint, nutmeg, German chamomile, clove, copaiba, helichrysum, Idaho balsam fir, white fir, pine, eucalyptus globulus, frankincense, and myrrh are popular with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis sufferers.
Violet Flame Reiki therapy is appropriate for arthritis sufferers.
The next post will cover bunions.

Anxiety and Reflexology for the Spirit
Anxiety sufferers are often adults who feel they experienced emotional neglect and trauma as children. Anxiety can also “run in families”. Sometimes, people on certain long term prescriptive drugs exhibit anxiety symptoms. Anxiety is present when a chemical imbalance exists in the brain. It’s diagnosed by symptoms. And, some experts feel that anxiety affects more women than men.
Offer your anxiety sufferers an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of essential oils and Reiki therapy in addition to Reflexology for the Spirit sessions.
AREAS TO WORK: solar plexus, nervous system, digestive system, urinary system, endocrine system, adrenals, liver and solar plexus.
Always offer a few moments with a solar plexus hold if you feel a person is suffering with anxiety. Reflexing the solar plexus offers the body an opportunity to achieve deep relaxation and grounding. If your client partner is taking prescriptive drugs, herbs, or other medications for a medical condition, please work the body systems that apply.
ESSENTIAL OILS: orange, Roman chamomile, ylang, ylang, lavender

More About What is Reflexology for the Spirit
What is Reflexology for the Spirit? In this post, we will offer more information about Reflexology for the Spirit, This should give you an in depth understanding of what Reflexology for the Spirit is all about.
Reflexology for the Spirit practitioners include spiritual observations as they manifest in the feet. They’re found:
in the different colors seen on the feet,
the locations of corns,
callouses,
bunions,
broken bones, etc.
What is Reflexology for the Spirit? Although the results of a reflexology session can be felt throughout the body, it’s not massage. Instead, practitioners manipulate the tissues of the hands, feet, and/or ears only.
An important goal of Reflexology for the spirit is Homeostasis.
Homeostasis is the return to balance of the entire body.
Encourage your client partners to schedule appointments within 1-2 days of other treatments they are receiving.
For example: if your client partner has a visit to the chiropractor,
physical therapist,
acupuncturist,
massage therapist,
or a yoga class,
please try to have him/her schedule an appointment with you within 24-48 hours before or after. This is the way to get the most value for your health care dollars. With Reflexology for the Spirit, 1 + 1 = 3.

The Actual Beginnings of Reflexology are Shrouded in Mystery
In this post, we’ll begin to explore the roots of this age old modality.
What we do know is that early history refers to reflexology in China, India, Japan, Egypt, Greece, North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, the Mediterranean, South America and North America.
Historians tell us that Egyptians practiced both hand and foot reflexology as early as 2500 BC. If you ever travel to Egypt, please visit the burial ground at Saqqara. The Physician’s Tomb there has a famous wall painting showing two people receiving reflexology. One is receiving hand reflexology and the other is receiving foot reflexology. This painting dates back to 2300 BCE.
If you ever visit Japan, be sure to visit the Medicine Teacher Temple in Nara. There you’ll find a stone carving depicting the soles of Buddha’s feet in a carving dating to 790 AD. In Buddhist tradition, the feet (or foot prints) represent his entire being. For centuries after the Buddha’s death, people did not recreate images of the great teacher’s face or body. But, eventually artists began producing images of his feet – representing the whole spiritual being to be revered.
Also, in India there are paintings of Vishnu, the Hindu god’s feet with symbols corresponding to several reflexology points.
By the time these famous wall paintings and carvings came to be a reality, reflexology was already an accepted healing modality in much of the world.
Reflexology has been recorded in ancient Chinese writings describing pressure being applied to fingers and thumbs.
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian form of medicine which is becoming popular in our country. Reflexology is incorporated in Ayurvedic medicine.
In the next blog, I’ll relate recent reflexology history and bring us up to the present.

Five Things You Need to Know About Being a Reflexology for the Spirit Practitioner
Five things you need to know about reflexology that make it a very inviting career:
First, Reflexology for the Spirit, by its very nature, is a low tech career field. Practitioners use their hands, brains, and hearts instead of machines.
Second, generally speaking, a Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner scheduling 25 sessions per week is a full time practitioner.
Third, it’s relatively easy to establish a practice without yellow page ads, billboards, etc. Some practitioners don’t even have business cards. Word of mouth is the best method here. If you like to write, you may offer a short newsletter periodically. But, more on marketing in future posts.
Fourth, Reflexology for the Spirit works well with many other modalities. A practice may be established which includes essential oils, flower remedies, yoga, massage, etc. I have several graduates who have added Reflexology for the Spirit to their yoga practices.
One modality which combines well with Reflexology for the Spirit is Reiki therapy. Reiki therapy is easy to learn, very easy to use with Reflexology for the Spirit, and the client partners love it. It’s a light touch offered to a clothed recipient. You can use Reiki therapy anytime you offer Reflexology for the Spirit.
There are no known contraindications or side effects with Reiki therapy so it can be used on virtually everyone. When combined with Reflexology for the Spirit, Reiki therapy offers a “boost” to the client’s self healing mechanism as the body moves toward homeostasis.
Fifth, If your client partners can be encouraged to eat healthfully and avoid chemicals and toxic elements – mercury, lead, hormones, or antibiotics often found in foods-reflexology sessions can be a lot more effective. If a food has a label you can’t read, pronounce, or understand, it’s not acceptable.
It’s easier for our bodies to get and stay healthy if the foods we eat are clean.
In the next posts, you’ll learn a bit about the glorious history of reflexology along with a description of the benefits, and contraindications.

Important Info You May Not Find Elsewhere
Reflexology is one of the world’s most enduring and non-invasive therapies. Reflexology sessions offer a method of reflexing energy points in the feet (or hands). These sessions bring healing results to many parts of the body at the same time. And, these sessions usually take no more than an hour.
The principle behind reflexology is that the entire body is mapped out on the feet. Important information for us: points on the feet relate to every area with a corresponding part in the body. Reflexing these points opens up pathways for healing to begin.
The spiritual aspect relates to the deeper component where the client’s emotions are found. They are the basis of medical issues or illness. They are also a manifestation of them. They can be liberated by this work. One can certainly be a reflexologist who does the mechanical work without focusing on the spiritual aspect, There are many of them.
Important information is that something changes in the hands-on experience of the session when the practitioner’s intention is to wake up the spiritual center. When that happens, the practitioner and the client-partner work together as a team. As the intention is released the client-partner finds inner spirit. In that release comes peace and homeostasis, a word you’ll find again and again in this blog.
In the next post, I’ll continue sharing important information with you.
