Emphysema, a Spiritual Disease connected to Stress
Spiritually, emphysema is a fear of absorbing life. You are worn out with stress and worry because of your sense of foreboding. For you, life is a struggle and you cannot live in the moment. Grief is woven in all this.
When smoking damages lungs so severely that breathlessness and fast breathing occur, you have emphysema. You may have a chronic cough.
CHAKRA
Emphysema is a fourth chakra imbalance.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK:
respiratory system, immune system, muscular system, digestive system, endocrine system, liver, solar plexus
ESSENTIAL OILS:
lavender, rosemary, tea tree, lemon, thyme, peppermint, ginger, sage, hyssop
CAUSES
Emphysema is your body responding to long-term exposure to airborne irritants. This includes both smoking and second-hand smoke. Both indoor and outdoor pollution cause emphysema. Heating fumes are part of this mix.
SUGGESTED HEALING SYSTEMS
Conventional medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Herbalism.
You can benefit from an integrated medicine approach and using a health care team. Including alternative medicine professionals can help you overcome the panic that goes along with shortness of breath.
A nutritionist can offer you a comprehensive profile of foods and supplements to include in your diet. A pulmonary therapist will provide you with ways to decrease lung congestion, shortness of breath, or swelling in your legs. Learn to maximize the effectiveness of your medications.
Use your oxygen therapy. A physical therapist can teach you easy aerobic exercises and strength training to improve your daily life.
THINGS TO DO
The most important thing to do is stop smoking. Stay away from secondhand smoke, chemical fumes, and automobile exhaust.
Regular exercise is crucial because it increases your lung capacity.
Wear a cold air mask or scarf over your nose and mouth before going outside.
Get your flu shots annually and include a pneumonia vaccination when it’s time. Keep your indoor environment clean of toxins\
Avoid stress with tai chi, qi gong, meditation.
Regular reflexology, Reiki, or chakra healing sessions will invite homeostasis, something you can benefit from. The regular sessions will also calm anxiety and stress.

Eczema is both a spiritual disease and a way of hiding.
Spiritually, you have negative attitudes about unpleasant events in your life. You want to hide yourself and how you feel.
Eczema is a fairly common skin condition which is become even more common. Your skin becomes inflamed, red, and itchy, as you react to soaps, detergent, household chemicals, food, house dust, and other environmental irritants.
Eczema’s itchy patches appear on your skin before the redness. Allergies, immune system overload and stress cause Eczema. Flaking skin and a rash appear on your legs, hands, face, neck.
Eczema likes inner knees and elbows of children.
If the condition doesn’t improve within a week, or if it becomes infected, you need to see a medical professional.
Regular reflexology, Reiki, and chakra healing sessions will help manage its side effects during treatment. Regular sessions will also encourage homeostasis as your body normalizes itself when immune system overload is minimized as you clean up your environment.
Eczema triggers which cause outbreaks include animal dander, anger, cleaning products, drugs, foods, fragrances, poor circulation, stress. One of your tasks with Eczema is to identify which products are your own personal triggers.
The most common foods provoking Eczema attacks include milk, eggs, wheat, fish, and foods with soy.
A journal may help you. Keep a diary and pinpoint some potential food and environmental triggers. This will make your eczema experience easier for you.
Eczema happens when your immune system is overloaded so a clean environment is critical. This includes air, your body, car, home, work place, and the water you drink and wash with.
When you clean out the toxins, your health will have a chance to improve. When this happens, your reflexology sessions will be more effective, and you will have a better chance to manage Eczema’s side effects.
In the middle of this, try to get a little sun every day.
This information may be a bit daunting. However, cleaning up your body and the environment where you live and work is easier than you might think. For starters, throw out all your cleaning supplies and cosmetics. Replace them with non-toxic products which won’t worsen your situation.
Then, clean up your diet by cooking and eating only foods which have no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives. Eat nothing with additives.
It has been said that health begins and ends in the color. You may decide to have a colon cleanse followed by a liver cleanse. The important thing is to treat your digestive disorders.
When you clean up your environment and clean out your body, it will be easier for you to cope with stressful situations.
I cleaned out my body and my home and my car and my workplace. It was an effort but much easier than it seems.
First, I identified the products I felt were the least threatening to my body. I did my research and identified Dr. Bronner’s soap as my household cleanser. I chose my creams from three companies: Dr. Hauschka, Jurlique, and Weleda. I chose Jurlique and used it for years. I finally switched to Weleda because I could buy it locally at Woodstock Apothecary.
But, I never replaced the cosmetics I threw out. I decided I didn’t need them. I’ve saved myself many hours and much money by not wasting money on or time applying make-up to my face every day. I saved the cosmetics for parties.
Dr. Bronner’s soap worked well for me because my body liked the product. I chose the peppermint formula and still use it every day My transition to Dr. Bronner’s was easy because the company has a “cheat sheet” with all the recipes I needed. Dr. Bronner’s is also on You Tube. I also liked Dr. Bronner’s because I could buy it everywhere.
I chose my first recipe when I bought a small, glass dropper bottle and filled it with Dr. Bronner’s. I use one drop of Dr. Bronner’s soap when I brush my teeth. (Yes, it tastes just like soap!)
My clothes experienced a transition, too. For starters, I really now have very few pieces in my wardrobe that need dry cleaning. (Non-existent dry cleaning bills were a nice surprise!)
I use Dr. Bronner’s to clean every room in my house. The Cheat Sheet had all the recipes.
CHAKRA
Eczema is a fourth chakra imbalance.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK
immune system, nervous system, lymphatics, digestive system, circulatory system, liver solar plexus
ESSENTIAL OILS
bergamot, carrot seed, frankincense, geranium, helichrysum, juniper, lavender, myrrh, peppermint, sweet orange, tea tree, yarrow
FIELDS OF HEALING
Conventional medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Herbalism. Eczema responds well to many types of healing. Begin with conventional medicine and then branch out to alternative, complimentary, and integrative medicines.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Keep damaged skin moist using an oil-based cream. Apply emollients liberally and frequently, preferably twice daily. Use a humidifier to moisturize dry, indoor air.
TREATMENT GOAL
If you can avoid the itch-scratch-itch cycle and prevent potential infection, your situation will improve.
OTHER THINGS YOU MAY TRY
Bathe in lukewarm water using soaps that don’t contain perfumes or dyes. After you bathe, pat your skin dry. Follow this with a rich, thick, moisturizing cream.
Reduce your exposure to allergens. Allergy shots may be appropriate.
Treat yourself to about fifteen minutes of sun every day.
SOME QUESTIONS TO ASK
Is the real me trying to come out. What am I trying to escape from?

Anxiety Attacks – a Spiritual Event
Spiritually, an anxiety attack happens when fear takes over the situation. Fear is a huge spiritual issue which can overcome your ability to cope. You feel you are worthless, helpless, and cannot trust life. You feel stuck and limited in life but don’t want to make changes. Stress can be a factor. Fear looms large.
Anxiety attacks usually begin suddenly and peak within a few minutes. Symptoms include a rapid heart rate, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath, hyperventilation, chills, and a sense of impending doom.
For starters, anxiety attacks require professional help. If you visit a Chiropractor, massage therapist, psychotherapist, yoga teacher, schedule your sessions within twenty-four hours to forty-eight hours for maximum benefit of both.
The synchronicity of your sessions (which should include Reiki, chakra healing, and reflexology) will boost the benefits of these modalities. Your sessions will calm some side effects of drugs taken during treatment.
Do you take prescriptive drugs, herbs, or other medications for a medical condition? Make sure everyone on your medical team knows about all drugs, herbs, oils and other medications you take. Ask your bodyworkers to work body systems that apply to your medications, drugs, and herbs.
Bodywork sessions during treatment can balance your chakras, encourage homeostasis, ground your systems, and support your healing process.
SUGGESTED HEALING SYSTEMS
Conventional medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Herbalism.
Anxiety attacks are a valid reason to seek medical help. They are hard to manage without professional help but they may worsen without treatment. The main treatments include psychotherapy and medications.
Although many things contribute to anxiety attacks, one which is important overall is nutrition. A qualified nutritionist can support your path toward a stress-free environment because what you eat or don’t eat directly affects your day-to-day health.
CHAKRA:
Anxiety attacks are a seventh chakra imbalance.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK: endocrine system, digestive system, nervous system, liver, and solar plexus.
Work all systems which apply to any other health issues you experience.
ESSENTIAL OILS:
frankincense, lavender, orange, Roman chamomile, rose, ylang ylang
THINGS TO DO
Learn a breathing technique to ground yourself in your body. Learn stress management techniques to calm yourself and overcome the stress you experience.
QUESTIONS TO ASK:
Why do I feel so powerless? Why is fear interfering with my daily life?

Alzheimer’s Disease: This Spiritual Disease is in Your Life Years Before You Know it.
Spiritually, you are overwhelmed with your life’s path and want to run away to another time. You do not want to live your life the way it is now because you lost your sense of belonging. With memory loss, you escaped your roots, your place in your society, and your heritage.
I read somewhere that from one third to one half of people over eighty suffer with this dread disease. I believe these numbers may be overstated. Health professionals write about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia with much less certainty than they give their words to heart disease and diabetes.
My experience with Alzheimer’s Disease insists that I share this: much that is written may not apply to your loved one’s situation, no matter the circumstances.
Professionals believe Alzheimer’s has genetic, lifestyle, and environmental causes. Alzheimer’s develops slowly, over time. The same things that put you at risk for heart disease also put you at risk for this disease: sedentary lifestyle, smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol scores.
Alzheimer’s patients have trouble thinking, speaking, reasoning, and writing. The personality changes over time. Disorientation is common and personality changes are to be expected. One early warning behavior includes asking the same question over and over and over. A second behavior is forgetting to do familiar things. Finally, misplacing things and finding them in unusual places is a red flag.
Do you practice Reiki therapy, reflexology, or chakra healing? Offering sessions of these modalities can be one of the most significant things you will ever do for an Alzheimer’s patient. Your sessions are a way to spiritually communicate and connect with a person when words no longer work.
Are you a Reiki Master Teacher? Teaching Reiki to a caregiver can be an important gift for both the caregiver and patient. Other people living in the household can be attuned to Reiki. This includes the pets and children.
Alzheimer’s Disease is a thief of a disease. For starters, Alzheimer’s steals your brain. Then, it steals your body. Finally, it steals every penny in your bank and savings accounts.
CHAKRA:
Alzheimer’s is a seventh chakra imbalance.
SUGGESTED HEALING SYSTEMS:
Begin with Conventional medicine, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, and Herbalism. Supplement your allopathic medicine with complementary and alternative medicine techniques wherever possible.
Alzheimer’s Disease responds well to complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine techniques. For now, no treatment can stop the disease. The goal is to slow symptoms and offer whatever relief you can.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK:
endocrine system, skeletal system, lymphatics, intestinal system, liver, solar plexus
ESSENTIAL OILS:
cedarwood, eucalyptus, frankincense, German chamomile, ginger, myrrh, nutmeg, patchouli, sandalwood, spikenard.
ACTIVITIES WHICH MAY HELP:
Regular exercise along with reflexology will improve your mood and maintain your health. You’ll sleep better and have fewer constipation problems.
Good nutrition is important.
A calm and stable environment helps.
Keep your schedule regulated.
EMOTIONS EXPERIENCED BY ALZHEIMER’S PATIENTS:
Anger, confusion, depression, fear, frustration, and fear are common. Anxiety is experienced when noise, being rushed, complicated tasks, or crowds happen.
ACTIVITIES TO REDUCE YOUR RISK OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE:
Mentally and socially stimulating activities can reduce your risk. Preventive steps include keeping physically and mentally active.
One of the most important things you can do is keep your heart strong. That means you should keep your blood pressure levels normal. Keep your cholesterol numbers, your weight, and type 2 diabetes numbers in the normal range.
Physical fitness can’t be over emphasized. Take a weekly exercise class. Power walking, swimming, running, regular gym workouts help.
Keep your job as long as you can. If you’re tired of the job you have, get another one. Whatever you do, never quit working.
Keep yourself socially connected to your community. A rich social life is important. Don’t let yourself be lonely.
Take continuing education classes. Learn crochet, carpentry, knitting, musical instruments, paintings, reading, sculpture, quilting. Challenge your mind.
Regular massage, reflexology, Reiki therapy sessions are beneficial. Surf the internet. Get organized. Care for others.
A good night’s sleep is one of the best things you can do to keep Alzheimer’s out of your life.
Don’t let yourself get depressed.
A hint: Do all of these things before you experience symptoms. You are fighting Alzheimer’s for years before you have symptoms.
RISK FACTORS:
Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, stress
IS SOMEONE YOU KNOW SUFFERING WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE?
One of the most significant things you will ever do for an Alzheimer’s patient is offer reflexology, Reiki therapy and chakra healing sessions to that patient. Your sessions are a truly spiritual way to communicate and connect with a person when words no longer work.
DO YOU KNOW A REIKI MASTER TEACHER? ARE YOU A REIKI MASTER TEACHER:
Teaching Reiki to a person caring for an Alzheimer’s patient can be an important gift for the caregiver and patient both.

Acne is a Stressful and Spiritual Disease
Spiritually, you are at risk for acne when you experience excessive, unrelenting stress. When this kind of stress enters your life, love and accept yourself as a perfect human being. Build self-confidence, self-esteem, and value.
Extreme stress brings out extreme self-dissatisfaction. You are under tremendous pressure from a person or situation in your environment. This pressure never lets up. Anger is also an issue. (How can it not be, with intense pressure?)
Acne is a difficult disease. First, you’ve got stress in your life contributing to the blemishes. As if the stress isn’t enough, the blemishes are an embarrassment. Then, acne itself is uncomfortable enough because blemishes can be painful, and especially with deeper inflammation.
RISK FACTORS
Stress, hormone changes, diet, family history of the steroids, climate, cosmetics
CHAKRA
Acne is a third chakra imbalance.
SUGGESTED HEALING SYSTEMS
Conventional medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Herbalism. See a dermatologist if the acne persists. It’s better to go early in the disease, before the scarring begins. Scars stay with you for life unless you get treatment to prevent them or you get medical dermabrasion.
Regular visits to a reflexologist, Reiki, and chakra healing calm your emotional upsets, heal your body while promoting homeostasis. Regular sessions manage the side effects of acne during treatment. Regular exercise will help you work off some of the stress. A good skin cleansing program is essential. Your physician may prescribe antibiotics.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK
diaphragm, digestive system, endocrine system, face, immune system, intestines, kidneys, liver, lymphatic system, nervous system, solar plexus
Stimulate your lymphatic system regularly to reduce stress and eliminate toxins.
ESSENTIAL OILS
bergamot, cedarwood, clove, geranium, grapefruit, German or Roman chamomile, lavender, oregano, patchouli, rosemary, rosewood, tea tree, vetiver
THINGS TO DO
A good diet which includes plenty of water is important. Skip the junk food. Your food should be clean and avoid excessive fat, oil, sugar.
Manage your stress. This means you need to develop coping skills such as self-Reiki, meditation, tai chi. Read the chapter on stress.
IMPORTANT FOODS IN YOUR DIET
Almonds, beans, Brazil nuts, cantaloupe, carrots, chicken, eggs, fish, flaxseed oil, fresh fruits, garlic, leafy greens, melons, onions, oranges, oysters, peanuts, poultry, red bell peppers, salmon, sunflower seeds, strawberries, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turkey, fresh vegetables, walnuts, whole grains, yams

Cancer and Your Spirituality
Spiritually, few diseases have an impact as strong as cancer. Grief eats away at your body. Carrying past wounds makes you fearful, angry. You attack yourself from the inside out. Finally, you are running on empty.
Cancer is a complex and life-threatening disease. It requires specially trained health care professionals. Your journey to wellness will be easier and more effective if your medical knows about any and all alternative remedies you use. Your recovery calls for conventional physicians and integrative medical techniques. In other words, use every tool you feel will work.
Include internists, physical therapists, nutritionists, bodyworkers, healers in your wellness team. Everyone is needed to care for you and give you a better path to success.
As with arthritis, there are many different forms of cancer. Your reflexology, Reiki, and chakra healing sessions, received 24 to 48 hours after chemotherapy help move the medication throughout your body more efficiently.
Regular sessions offer a deep sense of relaxation, homeostasis, pain relief, and reduce stress. If reflexology is not available, try other bodywork modalities. They can change your cancer experience. Safe, effective healing bodywork therapies offer nurturing in tandem with cancer treatment.
When you suffer from cancer, continue all your treatments, both allopathic and complementary. Your reflexologist will support your return to good health through all your treatments. Your sessions will be most effective when you combine reflexology with Reiki, chakra healing.
Do you practice Reiki? No? Now might be a good time to start. Self Reiki sessions can help with fear, nausea, and pain.
RISK FACTORS
The list is long: age, air pollution, diabetes, excess sun exposure, exposure to chemicals, family history, heavy alcohol consumption, obesity, polyps in colon, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, poor health.
Some professions believe cancers don’t need risk factors because many people get cancer who don’t have applicable risk factors or who are not exposed to them. This makes cancer a more spiritual set of diseases.
CHAKRAS
The location of your cancer tells you which chakras are affected. With cancer, the chakras need to be balanced.
Prostate and rectal cancer involve your root chakra. Cancers of your cervix, ovaries, uterus, colon, unbalance your sacral chakra. Cancers of your stomach, liver, intestinal tract, pancreas, unbalance your solar plexus chakra. Your heart chakra becomes unbalanced by breast and lung cancers. Lung cancer unbalances your throat chakra as well. Finally, brain tumors affect your crown chakra.
REFLEXOLOGY SYSTEMS TO WORK
brain reflexes, endocrine system, digestive system, immune system, respiratory system, the lymphatics, circulatory system, nervous system, liver, solar plexus
ESSENTIAL OILS
Canadian red cedar, clove, dill, Douglas fir, galbanum, grapefruit, hyssop, Idaho balsam fir, lavender, ledum, maleleuca, myrrh, myrtle, nutmeg, patchouli, rose, sage, sandalwood, tarragon, thyme, tsuga, valerian, ylang ylang
VITAMINS AND MINERALS
Consult with your nutritionist, your physicians, and your entire support team to choose vitamin and mineral supplements for your situation. Nutritional support will help decrease any side effects you experience. Some professionals believe you will recover faster, have fewer complications if you take nutritional supplements.
If you have questions about which supplements are best for you, I refer you to Village Apothecary, 79 Tinker Street, here in Woodstock, New York, 12498. I get all my supplements at Village Apothecary. I trust Neil Smoller’s advice.
THINGS TO DO
Normalize your cholesterol levels. Exercise. Use smart food choices, portion control to balance your weight. Staying active helps relieve fatigue, reduce anxiety, lift pain, boost energy, preserve muscle strength, protect bones. Avoid overexposure to sun. Skip the alcohol. The list, it seems, is endless.
If you read this section of the book, maybe you’re taking stock of your life. Now is a good time to search your inner self and seek those lost parts you’ve ignored for a long time. Move them onto your front row of attention. Nourish those feelings and thoughts. Put them in the spotlight. Your goal is to feel safe so you can heal.
IMPORTANT FOODS IN YOUR DIET
There’s a correlation between fat, meat, and cancer. Fruits, vegetables, fiber are necessary for you if you are trying to prevent or treat cancer. Nutrition is important.
Some well known cancer-fighting foods include green tea, garlic, soy, turmeric, and ginger. No one food can cure cancer. But a good diet can help your quality of life while you fuel your body. At mealtime, fill your plate with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
DEFENSE STRATEGIES
Living well offers protection against many cancers. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as part of a healthy diet. Exercise regularly. Avoid tobacco and alcohol to prevent many cancers. Get a bit of sunlight every day. There is, however, no magic bullet.

How to Use This Blog –
This blog offers you something difficult to get in today’s market: insight into your health. It’s not a substitute for an x-ray or an MRI. Nor will it take the place of a blood test prescribed by your primary healthcare provider.
I’m a reflexologist, not a doctor. The information I share and the experiences I relate are based on my research and career. It’s not intended to diagnose or treat a disease.
I do not prescribe medications or treatments of any kind.
Healthcare professionals are trained and work in several different healing systems. I feel they all work toward the same goal: developing and maintaining your good health. Healthcare professionals include Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathy, Naturopathic Doctors, Homeopaths.
The information in these blog posts will allow you to see your health care through the added dimension of a spiritual event or situation. This can enhance your physical situation.
This blog is not intended to replace your primary healthcare provider, or any healthcare provider, for that matter. Instead, this blog adds a layer of personal care to every situation in your healing life.
If you have a health question or situation offering no answer, do not be afraid to dig into the past blog posts. There are several hundred of them.
In the coming months, there will be several hundred more. My sincere hope is that you will join my future posts. If you do, thank you for joining me.

Maintaining Your Good Health – Inner Fitness for Life
We each have an inner core, a spiritual center needing encouragement, support and protection. Your inner core lets you travel through life with minimal bumps. When encouragement, support, and protection are deficient in some way, you run a risk of developing a lack of self-confidence. There are ways to give yourself a boost. Life is easier with a strong inner core.
THINK POSITIVELY
Put yourself in a positive frame of mind before you even get out of bed. Ask yourself: “What can I be happy about? What makes me happy?”
CONNECT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY
Volunteer someplace. Get a job. Read a local paper. Use your library. Get into your community.
INCLUDE EXERCISE OF SOME KIND…EVERY DAY
In 1513, Juan Ponce de Leon discovered the Fountain of Youth in what is now St. Augustine, Florida. The Fountain of Youth still exists and keeps people everywhere healthy. There is at least one branch of it in your neighborhood, located on the sidewalk or roadside where you can walk every day. If that’s not a good option for you, the other nearby branch is in your local fitness center. You’ll be healthier and your body will thank you if you visit one of these branches every day.
CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT
De-cluttering is a bit of a fad and it’s okay with me. This grounding and uplifting exercise has become part of my daily schedule. I spend fifteen minutes every day clearing out clutter in a room. There are books written about it. Reading one is a good idea if you need a starter boost. Whether or not you read a book about de-cluttering, your inner self will be more fit when you adopt this habit.
REVIEW YOUR SITUATION
Now might be a good time to journal about important events in your life. Or short stories. Or poems. Or anything that seems appropriate for you. You don’t necessarily need to focus on what happened to you. The important thing is what you did with what happened to you.
SUPPORT YOURSELF
Do something nice for yourself. Think nice thoughts about yourself. Your nice thoughts about yourself are a treat, a gift you give you give to yourself. You deserve it.

When Healing Occurs
Healing is physical, symbolic, mythical, energetic and spiritual.
All at the same time.
The most obvious healing level is the physical one. This is where your body fights a disease or issue by overcoming symptoms, boosting your body systems, changing your DNA.
Chiropractors heal on the physical level when they make adjustments. Physical therapists work on the physical level when they move muscles on your body. Physicians work on the physical level when they set bones.
MYTHICAL HEALING
Mythical healing occurs at the soul level and is perceived through dreams and ceremony. Mythical level events inform reality and can include dream interpretation.
SYMBOLIC HEALING
When a client comes to me with pain, I engage that person in a dialogue which is symbolic healing in action. I ask a few questions:
How long have you had this pain?
Is it constant or intermittent?
What are your pain’s size and shape?
What color is your pain?
What does it look like?
What does it sound like?
What does this pain feel like?
What is its smell?
What makes it better and what makes it worse?
What other symptoms go with this pain?
When did it begin?
Where does it hurt?
Once you have identified your pain’s sound, I invite you to make a chant using this sound.
Symbolic healing works through your words. Talking about a health issue promotes healing. Talking with a psychiatrist or psychotherapist is symbolic healing. Speaking with a physical therapist about your shoulder pain is symbolic.
Guided meditation is symbolic healing.
ENERGETIC HEALING
Energetic healing uses no words. Examples of energetic healing include massage, reflexology, Reiki therapy, Chakra healing, and other types of bodywork.
BLENDING
Chiropractors, Physical therapists, and Physicians work on the symbolic level when they consult with patients verbally. Describing your heathl issues with a physician is symbolic healing.

Maintain Your Good Health: Some Guidelines
For me, much disease is preventable when you maintain your good health. Staying healthy doesn’t take a lot of time. Small changes can make big differences.
Positive lifestyle habits contribute to a lifetime of good health. This blog is filled with suggestions. Throughout our lives we all make choices about how we are going to live our lives on a day to day basis. These choices directly impact how and when our lives will end.
Developing a working relationship with your healthcare professional is essential. Many people enjoy good health for years and feel they don’t need a doctor. This can’t be further from the truth. When an accident or illness strikes, you need to know a health care professional, his/her contact information, and you need to have had an appointment within the last year.
People who are never sick haven’t a clue about what to do when a bone is broken or a head is concussed. They don’t speak hospital and they suddenly find themselves in a foreign land unable to read the directional signs.
Become aware of your body and how it works. Know what to do when medical attention is needed. Learn first aid skills.
Learn to get a healthy night’s sleep. Sleep is a core element of your good health. It goes right along with knowing about your body and how it works. Now, add healthy eating and good physical activity. When you combine these stepping stones, you have a basic plan to maintain your wellness.
For me, there are several causes of disease. Some are nutritional. The first nutritional cause of disease is created by DEFICIENCIES in your diet. Culprits here are sugar, white flour, processed foods, and added chemicals.
Half our population has DIGESTIVE ISSUES. Many people have resigned themselves to living with them for the remainder of their lives. Your body is made to heal your digestive issues because you have a built in abdominal brain which communicates with your cranial brain when there’s a problem.
This is where prebiotics and probiotics come in. And where things like regular reflexology sessions enter the picture. And Reiki therapy. And chakra healing. Appropriate bodywork has a place in maintaining your health and wellness life.
Our bodies can be toxic, all the way down to your CELLULAR LEVEL. Read the labels on the foods you buy. If you can’t pronounce a word or words you read on the ingredients list, put the item back on the shelf.
CHRONIC INFLAMMATION is big on the list of cause of disease. As you work to develop good health, you’ll get up close and personal with chronic inflammation if you go about this the right way.
When it comes to your good health, it all comes down to this: Eat whole foods. Eat nuts. Use olive oils. Eat grass fed meats.
A SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE will age you as fast as anything. As I walk down a sidewalk, I see people who move and those who can’t. Be the one who moves, not the one who doesn’t . 10,000 steps every day is a good start.
POOR SLEEP HABITS are huge on the list of habits which cause disease. Sleep regenerates. Sleep organizes. Sleep rehabilitates. Sleep is therapy.
Get enough of it.
When it comes to PRESCRIPTIVE AND OVER THE COUNTER MEDICINES, take only the minimum you need. The same holds true for medicinal herbs. The bottom line is that anything that can change your body for the better can also change it for the worse if it’s not appropriate for you, your health issues, your body, your age.
We all need a reason to get up in the morning – every morning. SMILES are necessary to your good health.
SOME BASIC WELLNESS GUIDELINES:
Good quality, nourishing food is essential. This statement does not promote one diet for all. The diet nourishing you may not nourish me at all.
The part of the statement, good quality, is the one size for all part. In order that what you eat does the best for your wellness, health, and physical fitness, it must be good quality.
Pure air and water are essential.
All of us need adequate warmth and shelter.
We each need a reason to get up every day.
Balancing work, play, and rest is important.
Everyone needs a positive sense of self worth. We all need positive feelings about our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical selves.

Enjoy your continued good health!
