Reflexology For The Spirit

spirituality of one's health

Celebrate Friendships, Life, and Your Community

A gift from your higher power, your friends are the family you choose.  Closer than sisters and brothers in many ways, they are defined by connections forged through life experiences.

Cherish, nourish, and celebrate your special support system.

Who are these people?

Your friends are the ones you call for much-appreciated advice.

They are the ones you’d like to spend your time with.

They are the ones that you know and trust.  You see your own reflection in their faces.

Celebrate friendship!  This means express feelings, cooperation, and give  help  freely, with love.  Friendship can be more than romance.

The happiness of friendship runs deep.

Go have fun!

Life can be easier when you meet with your friends, spiritually preserving relationships.  This is a good way to communicate with those you treasure as you build spiritual links.

Journey now with a meditation to celebrate friendship.

Find a quiet place to ground and center.  Light a candle.  Play some meditative music, Light some incense.

Whatever.  The goal is to get comfortable, relax as you sit, or lie flat on a comfortable position.

Using the energy of the Earth, focus on your heart chakra.  Visualize a vase of flowers or a small flower garden.  However these blooms come through, flowers float in space with your heart.

It is serene here, peaceful.  Eternal bliss secures the love you feel.

The area around your heart attracts a variety of flowers.  Each is unique with various colors, shapes, leaves, and stems.

Flowers gently move together as you breathe in and breathe out.  Toxins leave the area with each exhale.  Love, peace, and serenity ground you with each inbreath.  Flowers gently come together.

As you observe them, you realize that each flower represents a friend in your life.  Some blooms represent friends in past lives.  Others are in the present.  Yet others represent friends in your future.

As the flowers move closer together, you feel the love energy of each one.  Each blossom spins and moves with the others.  There is no danger.

As you realize they represent your friends and family, you are excited to come together spiritually.

As the flowers become closer, the energy absorbs and shares healing and forgiveness.  Light and love seem to be everywhere.

While you move together in a spiritual dance, the music comes from everywhere, and nowhere, all at once.

As you and your friends join together, the flowers come together to make a beautiful bouquet.

Barriers drop.  Everyone joins together – accepting each as you are.  Love and acceptance are important here.  Breathe in and out this powerful elixir of love,   acceptance and forgiveness.

Fear disappears on this spiritual place and time.  The music and the colors and the moment heal.

At this healing moment, the flowers and the music and the colors begin to slowly float and connect.

You feel at one with your friends from the past, the present, and the future.  Allow this moment to slow – allow everyone to connect with this moment.

Breathe in this moment.  Allow it to honor you and all your friends.

Sit with your friends now.  It is time to honor your past, your present, and your future.  See your friends in the connections as a beautiful, multi-colored, multi-textured arrangement of flowers.

Enjoy this moment.

Honor the events and spirituality of your past, present, and future.  You deserve the beauty in this moment.

When you think about it, you and your higher power are reflected in your friends.  You give yourself permission to be loved and healed.  When this happens, you can feel comfortable knowing that you will never be alone.

Honor your higher power in this moment.  It is a special gift for you to enjoy.

When it is time to return to the present, know that you can return to commune with your friends whenever you want.

Your Crown Chakra Meditation

A crown chakra meditation is a good place for physical and spiritual healing.  This is where you encounter unconditional love.  You also channel wisdom and inspirational gifts of spirit guides and angelic beings.

Find a quiet, safe space for this meditation.

Begin by getting comfortable.  Sit, or lie down as you breathe slowly, evenly, and deeply to energize your crown chakra.

When you exhale, you release anger, fear, loss, negativity, and any other toxins.

Beginning with your first chakra, check in with each one as you greet it.

Now move up to your other chakras.  Touch or tap each chakra gently with your fingertips and note what sound or image you experience at each one.

You may or may not experience sounds, touch, smells.

You may want to record a word or two in a journal as you journey up your chakra path.

Arriving at your crown chakra, focus on where you are for a few minutes. Touch or tap your crown chakra as you focus on the center of your head.   What sensations do you feel?   Do you find a message here today?

You don’t have to feel, see, hear, or smell anything.  This is especially true if this is your first crown chakra meditation.  Whatever you experience, don’t worry.

Breathe into your crown chakra now.  Your mind is quiet.  Accept this moment as the blessing it is.   Take a few more crown chakra breaths to receive any feedback which may come to you as word, sound, song, image, color, feeling, intuitive message, awareness.

Your feedback may come to you at the moment, or later in the day or even a few days later.  Don’t try to rush things.

As your crown chakra meditation comes to an end, slowly move your body.  Bring yourself to your space gently and calmly.

Return to this meditation any time you want to communicate with your chakras.

Thank your chakras for this experience.

Third Eye Chakra Meditation

A third eye chakra meditation helps you connect with your 7th chakra to access the wisdom it holds for you.

Go to a place where you feel safe.  Get comfortable.  Close your eyes and take a deep breath.  Continue to breathe slowly and deeply.

As you breathe, let each exhale release tensions and tightness.  As you continue breathing, feel warm relaxation flowing throughout your body.

Enjoy this feeling of relaxation and comfort.  Now, visit your senses on a spiritual level.

For a moment, bring to mind a sunrise, a sunset, a tree shading a meadow beneath it.  See your favorite flower.

Listen to the rain on a window.  Hear a dog barking in the distance. Hear a car honking.

Smell a freshly baked cookie.  Experience a cup of freshly brewed coffee.  Freshly mown grass.

Continue now, to choose your own selection of sensory experiences which you rely on to assist you as you experience your world spiritually.

After a few more sensory experiences, you are in a calmer state.

Ask your third eye chakra what it needs now.

While waiting for a response from your chakra, take a few more calming and relaxing breaths.

You may receive your desired feedback now.  It may come as a word, a sound, a color, a song, an animal, or a feeling of awareness..

If you receive this feedback now, think about what came to you.  How do you feel about this information?

What is a good thing to do to act on this information?  (if, indeed, you need to act)  It may be that this is simply something for you to know.

If you do not receive feedback now, don’t worry!  It will come to you when the time is right.

It is now time to return to your space in an awake, aware state.  Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and gently open your eyes.

If you have time, this is a good opportunity to reflect on your experience.

Return to this meditation whenever you feel comfortable doing so.

Drink fresh, cool water to keep yourself hydrated.

HOPE – a Guided Meditation

Hope focuses on renewal, rebirth, and healing.

Find a place to be comfortable where you can rest undisturbed during this time.

As we experience this meditation, feel the “old” drop away and “new” opportunities present themselves.

Leave everything around you behind and bring your attention to yourself.

Relax as you go on this journey.

Get comfortable.

Breathe in from your abdomen – slowly, slowly, to the count of three.

One – Two – Three

Now – hold your breath to the count of four

One – Two – Three – Four

Now – exhale to the count of five.

One – Two – Three – Four – Five

Repeat this breathing pattern three more times.

In – one, two, three

Hold – one, two, three, four

Out – one, two, three, four, five

In – one, two, three

Hold – one, two, three, four

Out – one, two, three, four, five

In – one, two, three

Hold – one, two, three, four

Out – one, two, three, four, five

Continue to breathe deeply as you go into this relaxation.

Your relaxation becomes a blanket of warmth.  Sink down into this  quiet place inside yourself.

PAUSE

You are calm and peaceful now.  It is time for your journey.

PAUSE

You are strolling along a path in a forest.  Notice this path.  How does it feel under your feet?  Is this path a smooth grassy path?  Are there pebbles?   What kind of shoes are you wearing?

As you walk down this path, take a moment to feel the air on your skin – the sunlight shining down – gentle breezes caressing your clothes.

As you travel, notice sights, sounds, and fragrances:  birds, butterflies, wind in the trees.

What is your reaction to this place?  How do you feel beyond your body?

Strolling for a short time, you come to a clearing in the forest with openings to different paths.

As you look at the different paths, one attracts you.

You look down this path and see something shining in the sun off in the distance.

You’re drawn to this shining spot in the sun.  What is it?

You walk along this path that you just selected.  How does it feel under your feet?  Is it smooth?  Are there pebbles?  Is it a smooth dirt path?  Are there stepping stones?

As you walk toward the shiny spot ahead,  you feel layers and layers of your past drop away.

The weight of the world evaporates from your shoulders.

PAUSE

You soon arrive at the end of the path where you see a bench waiting for you.

There, on this bench, you see new clothes, neatly folded.

When you look at them, you see they are more beautiful than any you’ve seen before.

You remove the clothes you are wearing and put on these new clothes.  They are a perfect fit.

You walk up a slight hill toward the shining object you saw at the beginning of your walk.

As you approach the shining object, you discover it is a mirror.

You look in this mirror and see your reflection.

You see:

The person you have always known you were.

The person  you have always wanted to be.

You see yourself as strong, and happy.

NOW – you can continue to explore your new “you” as you return to this room.

You know you can return to this place anytime you want.

Your Own Guided Meditation: Relax and Enjoy the Journey

A guided meditation awakens, transforms, heals.   It  creates a journey  so you can fulfill a purpose or reach a goal or answer a question of some kind.  In short, a guided meditation helps you solve a problem you may be experiencing.

Many guided meditations use quiet, calming music to support your journey.  I like  music which doesn’t have abrupt changes.  Whatever music you use, you need something which will not  interfere with your visualization.

Guided meditations work well in groups with one person reading or speaking the meditation aloud.  They also work well for a person alone who reads the meditation or who is listening to it on an audio device.

The best time for a guided meditation is whenever or wherever it works best for you.

Don’t worry if you feel you have fallen asleep during your meditation.  Usually, you have not.

Pauses guide and pace the journey.  They can occur throughout a meditation.  How many, and how long each one is depends on the meditation and the group.  I like to schedule the pauses in the meditation when I  design it.  .

Breathing tempo is established at the beginning of each meditation.  Many people do not breathe deeply enough.  Although shallow breathing is common, meditations call for deeper, slower breathing.  Belly breathing is part of the event.  I set the breathing tempo early in the meditation.

A first step in a guided meditation is to spend a few moments encouraging your recipients to get comfortable.  Try not to rush this part.  Many people are not comfortable in their bodies and may not recognize when they are comfortable – not for a few moments anyway.

Then, the scene emerges.  This can be in a secret room, in a meadow, on the edge of a lake, an the foot of a mountain.  The scene is described.  Meditation recipients are often invited to add their own details mentally as they listen to the unfolding  journey.

After the introduction which sets the scene, the meditation generally involves a journey…walking down a path, riding a canoe on a lake, taking a trip on a balloon.  Again, a few moments are taken to include details.  Descriptive paragraphs tell the story as it unfolds.  And, again, your meditation recipients are often invited to add their own details through their thoughts.

Sometimes, a guided meditation may introduce a character – an angel, a wise elder, one’s inner child.  This character’s job is to listen to any questions a person may have and offer an answer or response which may be received during the meditation or at some time later in the day or even the next day.

With a guided meditation, you and your recipient’s  job is to relax and enjoy the journey.  You reach your destination when you receive an answer or solution.

The final step allows a recipient to slowly return to the present moment knowing that she can return to the meditation at any time.  There is no rush.

Assure your recipients that they can return to this meditation whenever they desire.  It is time to stretch, yawn, open eyes, and return to the present moment.
