Could you study the Temperance Card for a moment? Front and center, pouring water from vessel to vessel, is Archangel Michael.\u00a0 This picture shows how he negotiates and balances.<\/p>\n

Followers in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam know Archangel Michael as the greatest of all angels.\u00a0 He is easy to get to know.\u00a0 Call him in with a letter or prayer.<\/p>\n

Call on Archangel Michael whenever you feel vulnerable or when you need guidance and support on your journey.\u00a0 Archangel Michael carries a sword.\u00a0 With his sword and his reputation, he is known for coming to anyone who calls him.<\/p>\n

Try this:
\n“Archangel Michael, please come to me.\u00a0 I need your help!”<\/p>\n

Making a long story short, the Temperance Card tells us to seek moderation and balance.\u00a0 In creating everything in moderation, it may be necessary to seek to blend both sides of the story.\u00a0 Are you doing what you need to do to get the outcome you seek?\u00a0 You can’t just wish for something to be a certain way.\u00a0 Include action and effort in your wishes.<\/p>\n

This means:\u00a0 avoid the extremes.\u00a0 When this happens, a nourishing balance seems to become part of your life.<\/p>\n

The balance so prized by Temperance depends on inner growth and outer harmony.\u00a0 But, it doesn’t end here.\u00a0 Think of your past compared with who you are today and who you will be tomorrow.<\/p>\n

STORY<\/p>\n

For me, balance and harmony work together in moderation.\u00a0 As a child growing up, I never saw anything in my community approaching balance, harmony, or moderation.<\/p>\n

As a child at home in Texas, I lived in a black-and-white world.\u00a0 I didn’t attend school with, play with, or even know any children of color.\u00a0 The closest I ever came to local people of color was passing the local bus station and seeing restroom signs which read:\u00a0 “White Women, White Men, Colored”.\u00a0 Water fountain signs were simpler.\u00a0 They read:\u00a0 “White, Colored”.<\/p>\n

Mine was a white\/black word which had no middle path.\u00a0 I only knew the extreme.<\/p>\n

Looking\u00a0 back on the whole situation now, I realize that I never played with or studied with any children of color because we attended segregated schools.\u00a0 They lived in their own part of town and attended their own neighborhood schools.<\/p>\n

Students in white Texas schools used textbooks and then passed them on to the students in the colored school.<\/p>\n

Integration was not a concept to me.\u00a0 I never even heard of it.<\/p>\n

I was already a teenager when, on September 4, 1957, President Eisenhower integrated the Little Rock Schools in Arkansas.\u00a0 On that day, National Guardsmen escorted the children to school to integrate our public schools.<\/p>\n

With the Temperance Card, there is no room for extremes.\u00a0 This is the time to go with the middle road.\u00a0 This applies to friends, family, jobs, health.\u00a0 Reject fear, guilt, and ignorance.<\/p>\n

We achieve success with the Temperance Card, there is no room for extremes. Balance, cooperation, growth, harmony, receptivity, and healing are the key ingredients to manage a situation and resolve problems.\u00a0 Compromise is the key.<\/p>\n

Patience is essential.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, people receiving the Temperance Card don’t like the idea of patience.\u00a0 But, there it is – just sitting there when it seems nothing is happening.\u00a0 All things work on their own time.\u00a0 Right along with this patience comes reality and the necessity of connecting dreams to your present situation.<\/p>\n

Get your act together and co-create your future.\u00a0 Visualize your road to the rising sun as you move toward your goal.<\/p>\n

FOCUS IN<\/p>\n

Self-care is practical here.\u00a0 What does this mean for you?\u00a0 Massage, Reiki therapy, regular trips to the fitness center?<\/p>\n

MEDITATION<\/p>\n

Go to a quiet, uncrowded space.\u00a0 Get comfortable in a chair or on a mat on the flor.\u00a0 Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breathing.\u00a0 Focus on your inhales and exhales as they balance.\u00a0 Continue with inhales and exhales as they develop a relaxing rhythm.<\/p>\n

You become aware of a deep pool.\u00a0 The water in this pool is sacred.\u00a0 It is some distance away.\u00a0 It will take a gentle uphill climb to get there.\u00a0 You walk over on a quiet path.<\/p>\n

The deep pool is fed by a fresh stream.\u00a0 As you stand at the edge of the water, you see the path has given way to lush, green grass.\u00a0 You see reeds and irises blooming near the water.\u00a0 You connect with the water and the greenery.\u00a0 The scene purifies and calms you.<\/p>\n

You feel the air you breathe is regenerating every cell.\u00a0 Every atom is glowing with perfection.<\/p>\n

You continue with this inbreathing and outbreathing until your entire body feels uplifted.\u00a0 You feel a oneness of just being.<\/p>\n

You stay with this energy for several moments.\u00a0 You want this energy to be more and more a part of your life.<\/p>\n

With one last uplifted inbreath, you know it is time to return to your room.\u00a0 You want to bring the energy back with you and bring your awareness back into the room.<\/p>\n

Gently, you slowly bring yourself back.\u00a0 You gently know that you can return to this room whenever you want.<\/p>\n
