height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What foods work well with losing weight?<\/p>\n<p>Vegetables, that&#8217;s what! &#8211; the more the merrier.<\/p>\n<p>When you finally get going on your diet, you&#8217;ll probably have a list of foods specific to your personal diet needs.\u00a0 However, that may not happen in your case.<\/p>\n<p>This article is not about choosing your diet.\u00a0 Everyone has to make that decision.\u00a0 As soon as you decide to go on a diet, you have to decide:\u00a0 which diet?<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a personal choice that I&#8217;m not discussing now.\u00a0 What I&#8217;m discussing is\u00a0 foods that will work well for losing weight &#8211; generic diet foods.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever diet you are on, a good guideline is this:\u00a0 Eat vegetables throughout your day.<\/p>\n<p>When you first begin your diet, choose three non-starchy vegetables each day.\u00a0 Later on, work yourself up to five.\u00a0 Finally, make seven vegetables each day your new habit.<\/p>\n<p>Begin with some vegetables at breakfast.\u00a0 A good example is scrambling veggies in your eggs:\u00a0 peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, for example.<\/p>\n<p>At lunch, enjoy a large salad or vegetable soup.<\/p>\n<p>Good snacks include hummus with your cucumber slices and bell pepper slices.<\/p>\n<p>Carrots sticks and celery slices are easy at snacks and meals.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh veggies are best, but you may use frozen if that&#8217;s what&#8217;s available.<\/p>\n<p>Vegetables listed below should be good on most any weight-loss diet.\u00a0 You may find a few on this list that won&#8217;t work for you.\u00a0 \u00a0Veggies to avoid are those served creamed, or with a cheese sauce.\u00a0 Breaded vegetables are not a good option.\u00a0 Anything in a creamy dressing is a bad choice.\u00a0 This also includes fried vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, this list should be adaptable to your needs:<\/p>\n<p>alfalfa sprouts, artichokes, asparagus, arugula<\/p>\n<p>beets, bok choy, broccoli, butternut squash<\/p>\n<p>cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, celery root, collard greens, corn, cucumbers<\/p>\n<p>edamame, eggplant, green beans<\/p>\n<p>Italian beans<\/p>\n<p>kale<\/p>\n<p>lettuce of all varieties, lima beans<\/p>\n<p>mushrooms, mustard greens<\/p>\n<p>okra, onion<\/p>\n<p>parsnips, peas, peppers (all varieties), potatoes<\/p>\n<p>radishes (all varieties), rhubarb<\/p>\n<p>sauerkraut, snow peas, soy beans, spaghetti squash, spinach, split peas, summer squash, sweet potatoes, Swiss chard<\/p>\n<p>tomato, turnips,<\/p>\n<p>wax beans, winter squash<\/p>\n<p>yams, yellow squash<\/p>\n<p>zucchini<\/p>\n<p>Fruits are not quite as easy.\u00a0 Some diets don&#8217;t include many fruits.\u00a0 Also, diabetics need to talk to a medical professional or dietitian before eating much fruit.\u00a0 Skip the canned fruits, even in their own natural juices.\u00a0 Dried fruits and fruit chips are not a good option.\u00a0 Fruits that have been processed are not a good option.<\/p>\n<p>apples, apricots<\/p>\n<p>bananas, blackberries, blueberries<\/p>\n<p>cantaloupe,\u00a0cherries, clementines<\/p>\n<p>grapefruit, grapes<\/p>\n<p>honeydew melon<\/p>\n<p>kiwi<\/p>\n<p>mango<\/p>\n<p>nectarines<\/p>\n<p>orange<\/p>\n<p>papaya, peach, pear, pineapple, plum, pomegranate<\/p>\n<p>raspberries<\/p>\n<p>strawberries<\/p>\n<p>tangerine<\/p>\n<p>watermelon<\/p>\n<p>Whatever your diet, if you eat more fresh fruit and vegetables and fewer processed foods, you&#8217;ll lose weight, clean out your arteries, balance your blood pressure, and reduce your health care costs.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever diet you finally choose, I hope you&#8217;ll join this blog on your
