Healing is physical, symbolic, mythical, energetic and spiritual.<\/p>\n

All at the same time.<\/p>\n

The most obvious healing level is the physical one.\u00a0 This is where your body fights a disease or issue by overcoming symptoms, boosting your body systems, changing your DNA.<\/p>\n

Chiropractors heal on the physical level when they make adjustments.\u00a0 Physical therapists work on the physical level when they move muscles on your body.\u00a0 Physicians work on the physical level when they set bones.<\/p>\n

MYTHICAL HEALING<\/p>\n

Mythical healing occurs at the soul level and is perceived through dreams and ceremony.\u00a0 Mythical level events inform reality and can include dream interpretation.<\/p>\n

SYMBOLIC HEALING<\/p>\n

When a client comes to me with pain, I engage that person in a dialogue which is symbolic healing in action.\u00a0 I ask a few questions:<\/p>\n

How long have you had this pain?<\/p>\n

Is it constant or intermittent?<\/p>\n

What are your pain’s size and shape?<\/p>\n

What color is your pain?<\/p>\n

What does it look like?<\/p>\n

What does it sound like?<\/p>\n

What does this pain feel like?<\/p>\n

What is its smell?<\/p>\n

What makes it better and what makes it worse?<\/p>\n

What other symptoms go with this pain?<\/p>\n

When did it begin?<\/p>\n

Where does it hurt?<\/p>\n

Once you have identified your pain’s sound, I invite you to make a chant using this sound.<\/p>\n

Symbolic healing works through your words.\u00a0 Talking about a health issue promotes healing.\u00a0 Talking with a psychiatrist or psychotherapist is symbolic healing.\u00a0 Speaking with a physical therapist about your shoulder pain is symbolic.<\/p>\n

Guided meditation is symbolic healing.<\/p>\n

ENERGETIC HEALING<\/p>\n

Energetic healing uses no words.\u00a0 Examples of energetic healing include massage, reflexology, Reiki therapy, Chakra healing, and other types of bodywork.<\/p>\n

BLENDING<\/p>\n

Chiropractors, Physical therapists, and Physicians work on the symbolic level when they consult with patients verbally.\u00a0 Describing your heathl issues with a physician is symbolic healing.<\/p>\n
