The problem is that we have a tendency to make sure the children and the pets get everything but we skip our own vaccinations.\u00a0 \u00a0 These things should just be added into our schedules.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccines and booster shots can help us avoid things like whooping cough, shingles, hepatitus.<\/p>\n<p>Some people\u00a0 are afraid to vaccinate and immunize themselves and their children.\u00a0 I am not in that camp.<\/p>\n<p>I lived in both Mexico and Venezuela for several years.\u00a0 I am a great grandparent.\u00a0 My life experiences have\u00a0 permitted me to both experience and see other people I know\u00a0 experience some of the planet&#8217;s dread diseases.\u00a0 I have seen dengue fever first hand.\u00a0 A friend of mine had\u00a0 typhoid.\u00a0 And on and on and on.\u00a0 I lived through a polio epidemic.\u00a0 Fortunately, no one in our family was struck.\u00a0 But still.<\/p>\n<p>There are some diseases I do not want to have.\u00a0 There are some diseases I do not want anyone I know\u00a0 to have.<\/p>\n<p>My friend who had typhoid was extremely ill.\u00a0 When he finally got over the disease, he was a tragedy to behold.\u00a0 He looked like he was a prison camp survivor.<\/p>\n<p>I have\u00a0 a\u00a0 friend\u00a0 with shingles now.\u00a0 Shingles\u00a0 is a terrible disease I definitely never want to experience.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccinations only take a few moments.\u00a0 They save lives.<\/p>\n<p>Join the prevention club.\u00a0 \u00a0Get vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>SCREENINGS ARE A GOOD WAY TO PREPARE FOR A LONG LIFE &#8211; Plan for the screenings now.\u00a0 Screenings are positive longevity habits in action.\u00a0 Know what screenings are good in your 20&#8217;s, 30&#8217;s, 40&#8217;s, &#8230;..70&#8217;s?\u00a0 In future posts, I&#8217;ll list the screenings\u00a0 needed by agecategory.\u00a0 For now, just know that you need to get these screenings periodically.<\/p>\n<p>An easy beginning is an annual trip to your health care provider.<\/p>\n<p>Plan to get your screenings every decade.\u00a0 They are important longevity goals in action.<\/p>\n<p>TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 If you are interested in a long healthy life, your teeth are important in your life.\u00a0 Positive longevity habits include attention to every tooth.<\/p>\n<p>When your teeth deteriorate,\u00a0 so does your life.\u00a0 Without teeth, there are a lot of foods you cannot eat because you can&#8217;t chew them.\u00a0 This\u00a0 directly impacts\u00a0 your health because you won&#8217;t be receiving the nutrients you need.\u00a0 A visit to a dentist at least once a year is important.\u00a0 Learn to brush your teeth properly.\u00a0 Learn about which toothpaste is good for you.<\/p>\n<p>DON&#8217;T FORGET YOUR FEET &#8211; Your feet move you forward in life so they are important too.\u00a0 For one thing, 25% of the bones in your body are in your feet.\u00a0 \u00a0Neglected feet may result in painful bunions,\u00a0 corns, warts, and other problems which\u00a0 \u00a0make walking painful to impossible.\u00a0 Comfortable, well fitting shoes are important.<\/p>\n<p>Regular foot reflexology sessions promote homeostasis, the balance of all body systems.\u00a0 If you are interested in feeling your best, include these sessions regularly.<\/p>\n<p>-DIET IS IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE TO LIVE LONG AND WELL &#8211; Eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.\u00a0 When you eat lots of veggies and fruits, you can help prevent chronic diseases and&#8230;prevent obesity!\u00a0 Select\u00a0 as many colors of produce as you can and go for the leafy greens.\u00a0 These are positive longevity habits in action!<\/p>\n<p>DON&#8217;T BE AFRAID OF THE SOAP AND WATER IN BATHROOMS.\u00a0 Washing your hands five times a day is a good minimum goal.\u00a0 When\u00a0 you wash your hands often, you&#8217;ll be less likely to catch colds and\u00a0 other germy diseases.<\/p>\n<p>STRETCH!\u00a0 Stretching regularly makes sure your daily life is easier as you get in and out of cars, buses, elevators.\u00a0 Stretching regularly will help prevent falls because you&#8217;ll\u00a0 have better coordination and balance.\u00a0 Your joints will love you for it.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll love your joints because your life will be easier.<\/p>\n<p>KEEP A TO-DO LIST.\u00a0 This will make your life easier day after day after day.\u00a0 Year after year after year.\u00a0 If you keep postponing your to-do list until you need it, it&#8217;ll be much harder to include in your life.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, nobody wants someone to tell you that you need to keep a to-do list because you forgot an appointment and stood up some important friends or co-workers.<\/p>\n<p>DO WHAT THE DOCTOR DAYS\u00a0 &#8211;
