As a Reflexology for the Spirit practitioner, your focus is on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person’s health.\u00a0 Your job is to facilitate homeostasis.<\/p>\n
This process begins when a person calls for an appointment.\u00a0 How did the person on the phone hear about you?\u00a0 Has this person ever received reflexology before…or any other bodywork?\u00a0 Does the person practice yoga, tai chi, etc.?\u00a0 Are there regular visits to a chiropractor?\u00a0 If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, try to schedule your appointment within 24-48 hours of one of these activities.<\/p>\n
Keep the paperwork to a minimum…especially for the first 4-5 visits.\u00a0 Focus on the feet…or hands.\u00a0 You’re going to learn what you need without a lot of forms.\u00a0 After several visits, your client partner will willingly and happily tell you everything you need to know.\u00a0 Then\u00a0you can begin to build in-depth information charts and files.<\/p>\n
When a person arrives for the first visit, offer several cd’s to choose from, and anoint your client with an essential oil which you feel is appropriate.\u00a0 Don’t go overboard here on the oil selection.\u00a0 If the oils are good quality, whichever one you two\u00a0agree on will be good.\u00a0 There are some very professional reflexologists practicing with fewer than 5 oils in the arsenal.\u00a0 And, there is at least one who uses 2 oils exclusively.<\/p>\n
As you begin to offer warm ups and work the feet, please notice the spiritual health clues they will offer you.\u00a0 Are the feet a particular color?\u00a0 Do you see bruises?\u00a0 What about corns, calluses, bunions, patches of thickened skin, hammertoes, etc?\u00a0 Are the arches high or low?\u00a0 Where are your findings located?<\/p>\n
Generally speaking, when you encounter corns, calluses, bunions, thickened skin, swollen areas (edema), the person is in a protection mode.\u00a0 If you observe areas that are sunken, the person has “shut down” in some area.<\/p>\n
