{"id":176,"date":"2014-02-15T14:20:03","date_gmt":"2014-02-15T19:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/?p=176"},"modified":"2014-02-15T14:20:03","modified_gmt":"2014-02-15T19:20:03","slug":"what-goes-into-your-reflexology-healing-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/15\/what-goes-into-your-reflexology-healing-space\/","title":{"rendered":"What Goes Into Your Reflexology Healing Space?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Page0007.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-620\" alt=\"Page0007\" src=\"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Page0007-227x300.jpg\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>One nice thing about Reflexology for the Spirit is that you can practice is without a lot of expensive or complicated equipment or props.\u00a0 Your healing space doesn&#8217;t have to be the Taj Mahal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Reflexology for the Spirit works best if the recipient has a body length surface to lie on, face up, or a chair to sit in comfortably.\u00a0 This can be a massage table, sofa, recliner, or zero gravity recliner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Often, a recliner is the practitioner&#8217;s first choice.\u00a0 If you have one at home, try setting up a special space in the corner of your living room, or other spare room for your healing work.\u00a0 Arrange it so the space is comfy and cozy.\u00a0 The standard reflexology furniture is a zero gravity recliner which can be purchased anywhere\u00a0 selling lawn furniture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s fine to use your sofa, as well.\u00a0 When your client partner lies on the sofa face up, their feet hang over the arm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some practitioners use massage tables which can be folded up out of the way when not in use.\u00a0 The height is adjustable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With a recliner or sofa, you&#8217;ll need a stool or small chair that can go low to the floor.\u00a0 (The zero gravity chair and recliner don&#8217;t fold out too high.)\u00a0 Massage tables are adjustable to you can use whatever chair you&#8217;re comfortable with.\u00a0 (It&#8217;s important for you to be comfortable, too.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Create a sense of place that is peaceful and inviting &#8211; a &#8216;safe&#8217; environment that invites the person to return, a reminder of a sense of peace.\u00a0 Your environment needs to say &#8220;this is your special time&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0Silence the phone &#8211; no one making noise, opening doors, etc.\u00a0 Any other people in your home should be instructed to keep noise levels low.\u00a0 Purchase a\u00a0white noise machine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A massage table with several heating pads lined up under the bedding will ensure the table is warm.\u00a0 Turn them on a few minutes before the client partner arrives so the space is warm and friendly upon entering.\u00a0 Table warmers for massage tables can be expensive, and for the beginning practitioner, heating pads will do just as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Pillows are important.\u00a0 They go under the knees as well as under the head.\u00a0 \u00a0You need towels to use under the feet as a cushion and also to protect your linens from oils and creams which you&#8217;ll be applying.\u00a0 Wrap a towel around each of your\u00a0 client partner&#8217;s feet after you work on them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you&#8217;re happy working in the space you create and feel it is a\u00a0sacred space &#8211; so will your client.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Many practitioners play low volume music.\u00a0 Choose something you think will be appealing or offer a selection to choose from before beginning the session.\u00a0 Find your music from classical, spiritual chants, Reiki therapy music, yoga music, meditation music.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Make the d\u00e9cor simple and peaceful.\u00a0 Keep the lighting subdued.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Be certain that everything is tidy and orderly, the area clean.\u00a0 No one wants to receive a session in a chaotic atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Things need to be kept clean also.\u00a0 People are coming and going;
