{"id":1737,"date":"2015-03-30T07:40:11","date_gmt":"2015-03-30T12:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/?p=1737"},"modified":"2015-03-30T07:40:11","modified_gmt":"2015-03-30T12:40:11","slug":"4-things-you-can-do-to-breathe-properly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/30\/4-things-you-can-do-to-breathe-properly\/","title":{"rendered":"4 Things You Can Do To Breathe Properly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSCN021011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1333\" alt=\"DSCN0210\" src=\"http:\/\/reflexologyforthespirit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/DSCN021011.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While it&#8217;s true that we don&#8217;t come into embodiment with a book of instructions, I wish we did at least show up knowing how to breathe.<\/p>\n<p>Many of us breathe much too shallowly which \u00a0keeps the body tight. \u00a0Relaxation is difficult and body functions have a tendency to be stagnant. \u00a0This makes all the little mundane things we do everyday \u00a0much harder.<\/p>\n<p>In the ideal situation, a person breathes slowly, deeply, consciously.<\/p>\n<p>When you breathe slowly,<\/p>\n<p>your mind relaxes,<\/p>\n<p>your body purifies,<\/p>\n<p>your energy level increases,<\/p>\n<p>you maintain a sense of well-being.<\/p>\n<p>When you breathe properly, you exercise your intuitive skills. \u00a0Many people mistakenly believe they are not intuitive when, in fact, they are. \u00a0The problem is they are breathing so shallowly that their body is too uptight to know when the intuitive sense is working.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel you aren&#8217;t breathing properly, take yoga classes. \u00a0Find a yoga teacher who will admit that s\/he can teach proper breathing techniques.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Take some breathing classes from a breath instructor if you can. \u00a0That&#8217;ll only make you a better reflexology practitioner or client-partner.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Singing classes may be an option for you as well.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Set aside 2-3 minutes a day in which you simply breathe mindfully. \u00a0To do this, begin by sitting comfortable in a quiet, safe place.<\/p>\n<p>Focus on your breathing. \u00a0It may help to close your eyes here for a couple of minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Find a place on your body where you can actually feel yourself breathing. \u00a0That may be your nose, \u00a0your abdomen or your diaphragm.<\/p>\n<p>Now &#8211; just pay attention to your own breathing and nothing else. \u00a0Notice the quality of each breath, how your body moves, how it feels to \u00a0breathe.<\/p>\n<p>As you do this, you should begin to feel some burdens lifting and some stress melting.<\/p>\n<p>Try doing this exercise daily for several weeks. \u00a0This may be something \u00a0you find yourself doing daily over a long period of time. \u00a0Or, this may be something that eventually becomes a meditative exercise for you.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, try to spend a few minutes each day consciously breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. \u00a0As you do this, be aware of your abdominal muscles contracting as you inhale. \u00a0As you exhale through your mouth, feel your abdomen softening, expanding.<\/p>\n<p>Some behaviors indicate poor breathing habits:<\/p>\n<p>yawning a lot during the day<\/p>\n<p>taking a lot of deep breaths,<\/p>\n<p>holding your breath mid-conversation,<\/p>\n<p>poor posture<\/p>\n<p>When this happens, you may not be getting enough carbon dioxide in your blood or not enough oxygen to your brain.<\/p>\n<p>Notice your own breathing each day and observe how your client-partners breathe. \u00a0Encourage better breathing habits for both you and your client-partners.<\/p>\n<p>Guideline: \u00a0Breathe slowly, deeply, consciously.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for reading this blog\/book. \u00a0I hope you will enjoy this \u00a0next series of posts which make up the wellness part of the textbook.<\/p>\n<p>Please refer this article to your preferred social media network.<\/p>\n<p>Peace and food for all.<\/p>\n<p>Thurman Greco<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; While it&#8217;s true that we don&#8217;t come into embodiment with a book of instructions, I wish we did at least show up knowing how to breathe.
